My struggle is seeing how the exception to the rule determines the rule. Cody is a rare example and there was more than just the skills there. The ties to Indiana, what he meant to IU, and what the program was going through at that time played a major role in him returning. JHS doesn't have those ties. Dang, didn't know Romeo was injured again and he remains in the NBA despite those injuries. I guess he made the right choice leaving after one season. He has what NBA teams want and will be drafted in the first round, potentially lottery after this season. -

Something that wasn't really discussed was how well we took care of the ball. We didn't have the turnovers for touchdowns that we had in previous road games. This will be extremely important in postseason games. -

Not a good end to the first quarter but nice bounce back after the first few minutes. This team is different. -
Completely agree, it's crazy to think it's still a quad 1 loss.

Please tell me how the situations between Cody Zeller and JHS are the same. Romeo is still playing in the NBA 4 (?) years later and has made quite a lot of money. JHS is a more complete player with just as much upside. There will be several teams willing to taking him in the first round and continue his development. Stay in school making limited money while having to attend classes and such or go to the NBA where you make more, your life is about developing, and have access to world class coaches and staff to develop. Up top we both know the obvious choice, a foot lower and we both would love a sophomore year. -
Absolutely, what people say initially is what they truly feel about the situation. It seems like the whole situation is just a burden for Oats because it's distracting to his team. Whether I like it or not, athletes and programs have a massive influence for better or worse. This will be used by PR folks as how not to handle a situation.

He what?! Again, as in my initial post, it's extremely insensitive and shouldn't have been done. Further, he shouldn't have provided the gun. Those are absolutely true. It's possible Miller and his teammate have been doing that all season with the intent to imitate a fighter going into the ring/octagon. Why do you think it wasn't presented as such in the media? Regardless of the intent of the pregame player introduction ritual, it was insensitive and shouldn't have been done.

Completely different situations His offensive ups and downs this season have little to do with where he'll be drafted. His measurables and potential have him safely in the first round and possibly a lottery pick. Where did Langford get drafted? 14th? A shooting guard that didn't show much in the shooting department. JHS would be one hell of a sophomore. The chances of that happening is on par with Josh making the PGA tour. -

Just imagine what we could do IF we ever had a game we didn't need to overcome the officiating?! -

I guess that could include a neutral site win over Maryland which would be an 11-8 record. IU could get 3 Q1 games in the Big 1.o Tourney. -

Illinois, Michigan St., and Rutger all sneak into the top 30 with IU defeating Michigan St. and purdoodoo in the Big 1.o Tourney and boom 10-8 in Q1 games no? -

Having him develop his shot and bringing in running rim protecting big to play alongside him would be helpful. Best thing about (most) freshmen is they become sophomores. -

We're a rescinded Fran tech, a fair whistle the first go round with NW, and a Boo Buie push off away from having the outright lead in the Big 1.o. These Big 1.o officials man. -

JHS is gone. At worst he's a first round pick but could easily see him in the lottery. -

I don't see it. He plays with his hands on defense too much and when he attempts to use his body he makes it too obvious. He still needs to learn the Big 1.o defense of hands back and putting your body through the offensive player. Hopefully he'll come back next season with a better understanding and ability of how to do this. -
***Not defending it*** We automatically jump to a "law enforcement" pat down. Just because it's the first thought that pops into your mind doesn't mean it's right. I've never received a police pat down where they checked my obliques only. It's closer to event security going through the motions. This could be just as much of a fighter getting a pre-fight pat down as law enforcement search. Although, that wouldn't evoke the same emotions to the audience they're targeting. Regardless if he's been doing it all season or if it was intended as a law enforcement or pre-fight pat down it's extremely insensitive given the recent events surrounding the Bama team, let alone that he was directly involved in.

I didn't want the 4 seed in the Big 1.o tourney but that might be our best route to championship game. Although, they could end up the 2 seed if they keep playing the way they have been. -

I didn't like Smith getting to the rim early. Although, if it's either Edey posting or Smith driving you're taking the latter 10/10 time. I feel this is going to be the reason we lose in the tourney. TJD is fantastic protecting the rim but giving up all those O rebounds isn't sustainable. -

For the most part, didn't fold with everything that comes with Big 1.o "road environments." -

Which is the best game plan to beat them. I thought Loyer had another in the first that was wide open we missed in rotation. Happy Gillis or Morton didn't hit one. Our FT defense was on point too.
