  1. That's where the length comes into play. You can still go fast. Pushing the pace doesn't necessarily mean dribbling the ball on the break. The Duke's and UK's (not to mention, the NBA)of the world seem to do fine with one pg, and a bunch of wings. Guess I'm old school, I want one quarterback running the show. Depth at pg is definitely a must. But that's the case with every top program. Give me shooters!
  2. Maybe out of necessity. At IU, he's able to recruit a completely different type player. I believe with this class we're starting to see what type of players he wants for his system. Long, athletic, high IQ guys. Agree about having depth at point, but Archie knows he has the floor general, who will be an extension of him on the floor. And he's only a sophomore. Everyone wants all these shiny 5☆ pg's, buy I just don't see any of them able to unseat RP.
  3. I truly believe we have our "5"star pg. And we have him for 3 more years. (At least 2 more). I'd be okay with a 4 star pg. Trey and Al could be be that guy who spells RP for a year. That would also show Lander we're all in on him.
  4. He was criticizing Archie well before last season
  5. Dakich is irrelevant when it comes to IU hoops. He trashes Archie and the program every chance he gets. Meanwhile Archie is recruiting the state better than anyone in the last 25yrs., bringing back and getting support from past players, and getting the administration to spend money on renovations. I will trust our sources on BTB over anything he says(regarding IU). DD is the president of his own fan club. Hell, even Benson has said good things about Archie
  6. Unbelievable! What a scumbag.
  7. According to who?
  8. That's what I'm hoping Archie is putting together here. As anything, more than one way to it. Go after the 5☆'s, but more importantly get guys that will get after it at both ends like Rob and Race(A☆'s). Class balance is vital with this approach. UVA,Nova,Wisky,PU,UM is proof that it can be successful
  9. "Slow and steady" wins the race. 2 unexpected schollies pop up, why not give it a shot. I understand the frustration, but the initial question was what is your solution to fix all of this?
  10. But you're expecting Archie to sprint in a marathon. His recruiting is doing just fine as well.
  11. Whatever fits your narrative. Taking the least relative sentence out of my post. Just asking what the solution is for the future of IU basketball is the bigger question. PS. - Was Keady a better coach than Knight?
  12. Therefore the equal. 2 -2 record! Argue all you want. a 4 game sample size is ludicrous. Outside success pointed to Archie being better than Holtman.
  13. Archie is better or equal to Izzo! Ludicrous?
  14. Just curious, for all of frustration regarding the program, what's people's solution for becoming "elite" again. Fire Glass, fire Archie, Replace drop ceilings, pay players. Been attending games since 1973, and I want to see a consistent winning program. I truly believe at this time, Archie is the guy to get us there. Saying Holtman is a better coach at this point is ludicrous. And the kind of statement that made him not want to coach here in the first place.
  15. Agree 100%. Would love Wes in that 2nd unit in place of Evans!
  16. Domas is not going anywhere. Heart and soul of second unit. 14 and 9 on 58% fg and 3apg in 24 mpg. Vic's absence completely changed rotations. Mathews and Evans are two big question marks for me, along with pg.
  17. Back to Joey. Great pickup!
  18. Still believe 3 is our biggest question mark. TJD may not have the range to step out to 3 yet, but his agility and quickness allow him to be a 4.
  19. Jerome's health and Justin's development are key. Those are my wings, along with DA. TJD and Race are my "4"s. Hit 12' and out . Both are agile enough to guard other 4s. Our best players need to be on the floor together, and not let other teams dictate what we do. We can finally compete size wise, and now people are saying we have too many "5"s. Maryland and Gonzga were pretty successful this year playing 2 bigs together.
  20. His brother carved out a pretty good career as a specialist. I know Danny is bigger, but Devonte is a better all around player. Definitely not saying he will be playing at the next level, but you never know.
  21. Getting a guy to perform that's been on probation for kidnapping, aggravated assault, and possession is a "cool" factor?
  22. They went out and got, according to all of the basketball experts, the best young coach in the business. (Or one of)
  23. Gonzaga is the one team since the Calvary, Frahm teams, I've really enjoyed watching. Monson kinda got it going, but Few is elite.
