  1. I never understood why Illinois was rated as high as they were. Nothing supported their ranking. Personally, I was always more worried about Iowa. That said, Illinois is a better team than IU made them look.
  2. TBH, I'm not sure she's going to play much of a factor in how the UNC football program does under his tenure. She's a sideshow. In the end his tenure at UNC will probably be a wash.
  3. Well, not the hire I was looking for, but I can get more enthusiastic about this one than many of the names that were thrown about.
  4. Big bad you, carrying that little pink purse when ever she wiggles her head and smiles. Good for you!
  5. It's probably exactly the risk they need to take. Hiring many of the coaches I've seen named is nothing but risk avoidance rather than reaching for the banner. A lot of names that would give you pretty decent records but after 400+ wins over 20 years, no banners. If IU chooses McCollum, the rest of the coaches in the B1G are going to be facing better coaching than they ever have.
  6. Yeah, the HAHAHAHAHA kinda told the story.
  7. There are no guarantees with any hire. A lot of names thrown out there are solid coaches, but nothing about them makes me think they are the game changer IU needs. McCollum seems to me to be the guy that can bring that. The guy who can be better than just a Sweet 16 every other year, maybe a final 4. He's not the safest choice, but definitely the highest upside.
  8. You too. Glad to see you're still alive and kicking.
  9. And Stevens never made it above a mid-major level. And what McCollum did at DII shows he can coach and says a lot more about him than most of the candidates DI records. It might not translate to D1, who knows, but its a lot more promising than most of the names being thrown around.
  10. Message a mod. I'm guessing if you've been on good behavior for a decade they might forgive you.
  11. Teacher, Theologian and Aristocrat?
  12. Stevens is a pipe dream. If he wanted to be the coach at IU, he would be. He was happy to leave college to coach the pros. He didn't like recruiting. He's stepped out of coaching altogether but if he wants to get back into it, I'm betting he could have another Pro job fairly easily. I don't blame IU fans for wanting Stevens, he's a helluva coach. And you can't ever say never here, but the writing is kind of on the wall on that one. However, everything about McCollum says he's every bit the coach that Stevens is, and then some. How's everything with you? Tell City area if IRC?
  13. Been 7 or 8 years. Been good! How about yourself?
  14. McCollum isn't the home run, he's the walk off 9th inning grand slam. So if your info is correct, we settled for something less.
  15. All good here and hope all is well with you. I notice that I still have a Abusive Behavior strike on my profile that you gave me a decade ago.
  16. Howdie! Yeah seen the guys over at Peegs bitching about the guys on BTB who bet on Brad Stephens to be the new IU coach (really??? If you want to throw money away just send me a check.) Thought I should check the place out. Seems a few of the old timers have passed on. Haven't really paid much attention to IU BKB in years, but really interested in this coaching search. I think Dolson is the guy who'll get it right and set IU BKB up for the next decade or two. Here's hoping! I want to actually enjoy watching the games. Glad to see you are alive and kicking!
  17. Well, you were not wrong. He's a heck of a recruit as a RB, and that's where his ratings are related too, it's just this staff likes him at LB.
  18. I'll take McCollum all day long. Best coach that's been mentioned in connection with IU. Bring him in, and add 3 banners in the next 15 years!
  19. Being recruited by IU as a linebacker. Giving his high school stats at RB that's impressive.
