Unfortunately negotiations are needed. It takes two sides still. It is what it is. Next coach will probably want to play us. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

It takes two to tango. This isn’t about UNC, Duke, etc. Its about Kentucky. We negotiated. They did not. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

We have been on ESPN and CBS over 10 times per year as a B1G school my whole life. We are actually on ESPN or CBS more times than any other B1G almost every year. If we took on any of those teams you suggested it’s not like we are taking a B1G network game and moving to ESPN. We would replace a game with another on the same network. Again you are hyping up 2011 because we made a winning play. It’s not like more people watched it because it was IU vs Kentucky. We will always carry viewers. We have to win for “perception” and “hype”. It’s funny cause your one example is one where we won and it created “hype”. Yes exactly my point. Why didn’t you bring up any of the other years? Because this one was memorable with a single play. Thanks for elaborating on the point I was trying to make. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Joe (Xavier) nobody outside of Southern Indiana and some people sprinkled in are getting hyped for Indiana to play anyone. It’s not the names that gets you hyped it’s the teams involved. If we are good, yes they are great for TV. We will always have viewership. But fans from Syracuse don’t give a damn if random IU plays Kentucky. It’s your perception you are worried about. Nobody else’s perception. You are the one placing hype if IU plays Duke. For one night. Perception and hype are two totally different things. Both are good when your team is good. Not because our name is Indiana and we are playing a Duke. But if that is perception/hype what you need, Duke has that about 40 games a year. We used to be the same way and our decline isn’t because we quit playing Kentucky. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

That’s what you should be doing if it also assists in the dual objective of getting everyone a run to determine best lineups in game situations. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I agree with this even though you are being sarcastic. I would love to load up on teams hovering 100-150. Then play 4-6 tier 1a teams. We would be guaranteed a top 5 SOS every year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yep and that series has helped our resume almost every year. Whether or not we had a good seed has come down to our inability/ability to win. A neutral court game is always a great thing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Whose perception? Do you consistently have Baylor on your mind due to the one time a year they play Kentucky? No. You build perception by winning in the season and in the postseason. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Oh ye of little faith. We are quarantined. I bet we could knock out two birds with one stone. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Lol apparently only Butler or Notre Dame benefits from playing us on a neutral court.... Us getting most likely a Quad 1 win doesn’t benefit us at all. Nope. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Yeah I thought it was very candid and great. In the 90s nobody would dare showing or writing about Jordan being condescending toward Krause. But I don’t think anyone would be surprised by that. It’s part of why he was the way he was. Just a true representation. Now Pippen getting paid the way he was? I was oblivious to that when I was younger. That’s insane. There are so many variables it is not worth going down a rabbit hole you don’t know exists when discussing Minor League Baseball. Just know the G league doesn’t draw. Minor league baseball does exponentially more. Fort Wayne has both. Almost 6k attendance for baseball over 140 games. Basketball? Under 2k in 50 games. Baseball pays that level on average $290 a week. It’s going up to around $500 and that’s why they might get down to the 3 or 4 levels. Arenas cost more to maintain than a baseball diamond. So there are variable levels to minors and pay. Just know there are around 250 minor leaguers getting paid in the course of a season. No matter what your salary for the minors is under $2 million. G league at $50k per for 30 players assuming that was an average? $1.5 million. So something that has 90 less games and draws exponentially less will be able to do that? I know you never look at the business side of things. But there is a reason owners are rich and it’s not because they make stupid decisions to make everyone else’s experience better in a years. Your wage idea along with massively growing the g league is not a viable business option. Again Major League Baseball will massively shrink their minor league systems due to the expenses associated with all of these affiliates. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I wonder how much owners who are businessmen mind losing money on these things. That will determine how much they pay players to play against prospects. Hopefully they learn from MLBs mistakes. MLB is close to closing half of their minor league systems down. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Gotta be all that lime. It’s a nice quiet little campus. It’s crazy cause those kids never cause problems. Hell the locals are way worse than them. Quietest college campus you will see. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Ha, it’s actually a good basketball school. Back when Steve Platt ran the team we were one of the top NAIA schools. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Ha so Cal “talked” to Rod Strickland (and tweeted about it!!!) and now all of the sudden Clarke is expected at Kentucky. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Agreed. I know there was some thought Kentucky underplayed their preseason ranking. If you put me in the top five every year to start the season, chances are most years you will be in a position to make a run. It’s kind of crazy how much stability they truly have had with their model. I bet Calipari has aged in dog years regardless. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
