Really hope this works out, but imagine everyone being let down if we hire Chris Beard lol. I’m also part of the crowd that tempers expectations initially. While he’s a grand slam, we can’t expect championships right away. Let him get settled and going first. Of course we all will be going nuts once it’s announced, but still need to be realistic and not be too insane. :)

I’m very optimistic, but understand this may very well not work out. Just for me, no reason to be too excited just yet even though I’ve jumped in on the craze. My gut though is even if it’s not Brad, it will still be a big time coach that gets us back.

Like everyone, really hoping for Stevens but expecting differently. Not trying to be the mood killer, but I think we will be just fine with a Beard, Drew, Belien, Matta (if healthy), and a few other good candidates. We all want the golden boy and I am in that boat too, but we have to realize that it might not happen and it’s not for an insane amount of trying. If it doesn’t happen but we still get a heck of a coach, I just worry this fanbase will never be satisfied even if we are a top program consistently. I don’t think it’s Belien or Matta, but I am confident in Scott Dolson that he will make a heck of a hire, regardless if it’s Brad Stevens or 99% great. We are IU and should demand greatness, but doesn’t mean the coach will be flawless. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

It’s been YEARS since I’ve helped run that forum, but the platform it runs on can be very tedious to deal with when something goes wrong. Plus, with the passing of both Eric and Ken, it might be a struggle to get the back end things figured out. I could be 100% wrong, but feel for those guys over there. I know Eric actually had to contract someone out at one point to fix some issues. It can get costly! Anyway, really exciting time even though nerve-wracking. I think it was after the home Purdue loss where Dakich said on his radio show that he was getting texts from angry former players about the product. I think everyone or done with Archie, so it will be interesting to see what happens because another year will be pretty bad in terms of fans and coach!
