Rob is 1st guy off the bench... followed by Trey.... and then Leal.... Not sure where Jerome fits in the PER.... Lander never leaves the bench & Justin Smith transfers (maybe to somewhere like Arkansas)

How can you use Justin Smith as a stat of somebody playing worse... he doesn't even play on our team.... What about our 2 Sophomore's? What is their PER? I am guessing it is a big improvement, which is why it isn't included in your analysis. The PER sums up all a player's positive accomplishments, subtracts the negative accomplishments, and returns a per-minute rating of a player's performance. Therefore saying giving these guys more minutes will make them better and build for the future is inherently incorrect. Why people continue to advocate playing Leal & Lander is beyond me... they are Hoosiers, and I HOPE they improve over the next few years and make an impact but I don't want to see either of them on the floor in meaningful minutes for the rest of the season, they have proven they are not ready... obviously they have proven the same in practice which is why they don't get a lot of minutes. Trey is getting plenty of minutes as it is so no change, but I would be ok to try Jordan a little more as he has shown some flashes, but he can't be playing 30 minutes a game either at this point. NEVER NEVER NEVER has any coach in the history of sports given up on a season so early to try to prepare for the next season... that is ludacris and would get Archie (or anybody) fired immediately. You do everything you can to win every game that you can, and for us this year it is the rotation and the minutes that we have seen all season... add in Brunk when/if he is able.... those minutes probably come from Jerome Hunter mostly...

Statistically ... YES.... Statistics can say anything you want them to say... SINCE Al Durham Arrived at IU he is shooting 34.3% from 3 (97-282), Rob is shooting 32.7% (57-174), & Franklin is shooting 32.2% (29-90) SINCE Al Durham Arrived at IU he has 220 Rebounds, Rob has 184, & Franklin has 88 SINCE Al Durham arrived at IU he has been a 2 time Captain (that part is undeniable) SINCE Al Durham arrived at IU he has been our best perimeter defender... Really? This is how you lose credibility in a conversation... make some valid points, have a good discussion... try something different to get your point across (although we have all heard it a thousand times in every thread).... But stoop to this? I am not going to go back and do any searching whatsoever, but I would be willing to wager that you disliked Crean's antics, clapping, signs, etc.... But now Archie would be better if he did more of those things.... C'mon. Maybe its just me, but I LOVE Archie's all business attitude..... When (if - for you) we start winning consistently and get into the upper echelon and he begins to loosen up, party it up in the locker room after a big win, show some emotion (a la Tom Allen) then great... but now he is in the business end of making us Great/Relevant/BACK again.... keep grinding.

My bad... that was why I cautioned that I may be off on that....

I know you are high on the kid, but I have seen absolutely nothing that says he has the most potential, or is a game changer. There is no way you distribute 105 minutes to Freshmen and 95 to the rest of the team.... then you will be calling for Archie's head when we lose to North Alabama. Again, what makes you say Lander has more potential than any guard on the team? I have seen nothing to say he is better on offense than Rob, Lander has the worst shooting percentage on the team, most turnovers, 0 Off Rebounds. Add that to the fact that he is helpless on Defense and Rob is lock down.... Overall Lander is the LAST guard I want to see playing during any game including this one.... a few minutes here and there yes but not extended minutes... get Leal a few as well but he has shown he isn't ready either.... use the game as it is intended to get time together on the floor against different competition for the lineups we will use moving forward.... Don't have to play anybody full 40 minutes (like Franklin a couple games ago), don't even need to give TJD more 35 (maybe even 30)... but you can't just scrap the practice it gives and give all the minutes to guys who will never (this year at least) play together on the court again.

Why on earth would he do this.... You think it makes Archie not the guy if he doesn't get the worst player on the roster (currently) more minutes instead of using the game to get other guys more comfortable? Lander has the worst 3%, worst FG%, fewest Rebounds, fewest assists (of the guards), and is the most turnover prone guy on the team... but sure, the coach would be an idiot for not playing him 30+ minutes this next game.... WHAT?

And this is to USPS's point... so many different states of mind tat everybody has their own answer. Elite for 1 guy is Top 4 in Conference and consistently in Top 25 Elite for 1 guy is Conference Champion & National Championships And to me it sounds (sorry if I am off here) that both agree Archie is not the guy, or the writing is on the wall, or whatever.... But to me this is a very big distinction... if you want to be Elite for the 1st scenario I believe Archie is there... knocking on the door and not going away.... if you want to be what the 2nd person says is elite then we obviously have a long way to go. I personally think we are heading in the right direction, I like the SLOW process, I don't want to be a 1 year explosion and then disappear again. Archie is recruiting the right guys, they are getting better every year both individually and as a team... the writing is on the wall for a contract extension!
