I know there is a lot of pressure on Mid-major conference champs to win the tourney, but the only pause I have was not getting to March madness last year that team was stacked! I know DeVires and Drake where right there all year but I was a disappointed. part 2 is he is having a decent year at St. Louis they are WAY better than what the program has been BUT I thought they would be a little better than what they are in the A-10. 17-13 and 6th in the conference is a little underwhelming IMO especially when you consider the fact he was able to bring both Avila and Swope with him to St Louis. Be interesting to see if they take a leap in year 2.

Thanks he is definitely a hire that would make me react differently than the last 2 that's for sure! The same goes for Cronin or Buzz. I would fall out of my chair if a guy(Stevens, Drew, Dusty, pearl or Otz ) was the hire . BUT I would certainly be intrigued and think there would be some pretty immediate improvements and floor raised. Just about anyone else might make me beat my head against the wall.

Agree to disagree . I thought it was pretty bad no way a college basketball game is what was it like 21-7 in foul calls . but again I’ve watched Big Ten basketball my whole life . I’ve also coached HS sports the last decade and the officiating at the HS level in Indiana is more consistent than the Big Ten Basketball . What other explanation for why the conference hasn’t won a title since 2000? im not a huge fan of this team . Not a Woodson defender at all glad he’s kicking rocks at the end of the year . They had there chances and Oregon made plays and played a little harder when it mattered. But that was a little absurd IMO

What Bucky McMillian has done at Samford is pretty impressive considering he came from the HS ranks. I gotta imagine he wants Bama or Auburn (if Pearls son doesn't get it) he is Alabama born and raised.

His candidacy as it relates to the IU job got brought up a few weeks ago on a Big 12 podcast that had a Baylor insider on it. He did say if Drew went to IU and knocked it out of the park, won big at IU and restored the program . How funny it would be when you look at the fact that Drew is basically the polar opposite of Bob Knight

Even the "Followers" are getting restless though. This coaching search has proved his lack of insight. He was able to hold them at bay for about 2-3 weeks as the job came open with agents floating guys names to angle for raises and NIL. But now that coaches are focused on the end of the year and his connections outside of the ADs office. It was insane that he actually posted that he didn't update the hot board because he "wanted to give the Washington game the coverage it deserved" I had not seen him comment or talk about the team and its play since prior to Woodson announcement even before then it was mostly criticism after the Bahamas. TO the point of his ties to HH it is interesting Eric got blasted for some comments on the 25th about MM and how he hopes the new coach kicks him to the curb, he caught some heat for it (keep in mind he is a 19 year old kid paid NIL or not ). Since then only post was his latest podcast episode. Wonder if Rabjohns and him had a convo about some things. Be interesting to see of his presence on the bard continues to dwindle

I can buy Brownell as a fall back candidate . He has ties to the state . And Dolson could sit at the podium at this press conference and make an argument (a weak one ) but an argument that he fits the criteria put out by the athletic department at the beginning of the search . Especially if he makes a bit of a run this year . I’m in no way throwing my support and I think he would be right back here in 4 years if he’s the hire . Just too inconsistent to be successful at IU . but because the athletic department laid out certain criteria for their new coach to me that automatically disqualifies guys like Groce , Pitino jr , or McCollum . For different reasons they all don’t make the criteria and Dolson wouldn’t be adamant about showing. Program legend like Woodson the door to hire John freaking Groce, Jr, or D2 wonder boy. 0 percent chance

Personally I’d flip Collins and Williams . Purely on the fact that Collins IMO could recruit the state better (he’s gotten some good Indiana players over the years ) then I’d boot McCallum altogether look at Sprinkle right now at Washington . The 3 seasons prior to getting Washington : Montana State - 27-8 Montana State - 25-10 Utah State - 28-7 I’d be hesitant if I was Iowa . One impressive year in the Mo Valley doesn’t make you ready in the slightest for the Big Ten . A solid list!
