I believe the point is that he has competitive advantages being at IU that mean his record is buoyed by those resources which further negatively reflects on Woodsons coaching ability. In this day and age where our NIL budget dwarves other B1G programs a .500 record at IU is actually “below average” from a coaching standpoint given the massive resource advantage.

One more time (repeat after me): buying a team in the portal and coaching a P4 team are vastly different animals. At 31-29 in the B1G, Woodson is barely over .500 - so calling him "slightly above average" is kind.

Not so much. 
I think I was pretty clear... "I BLAME THE STAFF" for last year's roster construction. Roster construction is a staff responsibility. Trey Galloway was our best guard last year and it wasn't really close. Nothing against Trey, who plays his @$$ off for IU, but that is a massive staff failure.
In my opinion, we have rectified the big staff failure from last year (roster construction). Therefore I think I was again pretty clear; "if it's clear like last year that we (do) not have success? Then this coaching staff couldn't win with an optimal roster. That's conclusively bad news."

Not sure why you mention Archie, I don’t care about that guy. Just what people who defend Woodson think success looks like. Copping out by saying you can’t is certainly one way to answer it.

Personally I think if this team is sniffing the bubble, or we have multiple 15+ point embarrassing losses, then barring a sweet 16 or better run he should be fired. I’d consider “sniffing the bubble” as anything worse than a 7-seed.

I’m signing onto that as a very reasonable description of what would precipitate the need to move on from Mike Woodson.

I am not a Woodson defender. I called for his firing last season like everyone else in this thread. Having said that, he is currently our coach, and he did "win" the off-season. No one can realistically say he didn't. Having said that, with this roster he needs to finish in top 4 of 5 the newly aligned conference, and at the very least Sweet 16 in NCAA, if not further.

I will support the whole team, including CMW, next year. If CMW doesn't achieve what I said above, I will once again call for his firing.

I’m just curious what the Woodson defenders think. I agree with them that the roster looks better but I think we’ll underperform our talent because we have a mediocre coach.

With all of that sunshine you’re pumping, what should expectations for this year? If you’re so confident in our great coach let’s hear what a good year looks like versus what a bad result looks like that should get coach fired.

There is no Archie Miller love, it’s just people replying to those that are saying Woodson is better which he hasn’t proven he is.
he inherited one of the oldest teams in basketball from Miller including an all-American and he got bounced early in the tourney twice. Then followed that up with a team of his own guys and didn’t even make the tourney and had a negative +- which has only been done a few times in IUs history, that’s pretty shitty

We’re paying top 15-20 coaching money while getting top 40-50 results the last 3 years. Underperform and get overpaid, seems like the IU way
