Thanks for the feedback from the Huber event. Agree that in hindsight he could have put this off some to facilitate the Knecht visit. The only thing that was out of Woodson's control, even with access to world class surgeons and therapy, was how quickly his knee healed. From experience I know that different people have different timeframes for getting back to whatever normal is going to be for them after a knee replacement.

To give some hope that TG can play in the tournament.... Isaiah Swope, the pg for Indiana State hurt his knee in December to the point he will need surgery after the season. He injured it again in February and will need a separate surgery on the second injury as well after the season. He has continued to play. I think they mentioned it on the MVC championship game broadcast that he doesn't practice, but plays in the games. Hopefully, Trey can play through this one as well.

Notice that today’s games are on Peacock. Hopefully that’s the only 2 games they have

Izzo has that consecutive tournament thing going, so he’s going to get the benefit of the doubt to keep that narrative going. If they lose to Minnesota, he doesn’t belong. If we win 1-2 games we’ll have a better record and won the head to head and we still won’t get in. The media loves Izzo and the committee will make some kind of justification for why they should make the field

Yes he could have. That part was under his control, possibly. The timeframe for rehab/recovery was not

I had a knee replacement. I guess it’s considered elective. My surgery had to be coordinated with the surgeon’s schedule. Meanwhile, I was given extra painkillers to keep me comfortable. I was also given a schedule or timeframe for how soon I would be able to be back on my feet again. When I’d be able to walk. There is a possibility that his decision on timing wasn’t completely his. There also is a possibility that he wanted to make sure he finished his PT and was capable of being on the court when practice began

Understand what happened. Don’t understand why some are using this situation that Woodson dropped the ball.

Fwiw. If you are a part of the BOT or connected to them, I appreciate your willingness to share some of the inner workings of the organization. I believe you are trying to share what you can, but I also acknowledge that it’s a political position and tenuous at best. If you are a decision maker, the hope is that you hear what this part of the fan base feels. I think that by your engaging here, you understand. But I fully understand if you feel your hands are tied. Thanking you for stepping out to post here, but also not 100% convinced that we are not being conned

You lost me when you called out Leal. The guy sat on the bench for 3+ years and did nothing but support his teammates. He finally has gotten his chance to play and he has done a serviceable job. In fact I believe he was integral in winning a game. As a business owner who makes sure that 40 families are able to survive, try to put in perspective that those 40 people would maybe lay on a grenade for you just like Leal has done for his coach.

Agree that keeping his emotions in check is a sign of being professional. Also acknowledging that being salty shows a level of arrogance that most coaches have. He’s gonna go down fighting for sure

I have been on this board for almost 3 weeks. I can’t recall you saying one thing positive about IU basketball. Not just on this thread about the coach, but any thread. Surely, there is somewhere in the past where you supported IU

Been on multiple IU fan boards. This is the only one where being a fan for more than 40 years is condescended to. Please don’t. Please understand that much of the financial support for the NIl or through the Alumni Club comes from the “blue haired rah rags.” How would you like me to stereotype you. The generation that doesn’t know what is going on at the games because you’re too busy looking at your phone? Wonder if you paid your tuition through school or were you helped by older generations who provided for you. The blue hairs could be your parents and are most definitely your grandparents. Are you going to typecast them that way?
