I don’t know anymore to be honest. My wife and I have discussions about this stuff all the time. From the Fitzgerald thing I don’t think she will do it but I am honestly like there is always meddling so who knows in basketball. This is a no second chance for me. It’s is unforgivable. Just because someone can coach they are allowed these second chances. Just because someone can pay someone off they get a second chance. Bullcrap. People have lost all standards and this isn’t some simple mistake. It’s a huge eff up. He isn’t good enough for these type of risks. I hope Whitten is smart about it and denies it. Beard isn’t what is good for this university.

I don’t think he even gets to coach a game. Just like what UT did. Like I said, nobody cared when Pitino was hired at St John’s. Bloomington is different.

You don’t understand how much pull the big firms have on the university. We have a lot of women partners that would be extremely upset with this. Rightfully so. There would be huge pressure on that side of things and I am a 100% positive that I don’t think Whitten wants to pull that stuff. We still have all our DEI, Women’s, etc. because we care about things like this. It won’t change that. The UT coach didn’t even make it a week before they were back at the drawing board.

St John’s is in a horrible area in NY. It’s way the hell out there in Queens. Nobody even goes out there. University is in horrible condition. They were grasping for straws. They also weren’t hiring an up and comer. It’s a really difficult place.

It’s true though. We aren’t hiring from the others. You may not like that answer but very factual. Bloomington culturally and politically is way different than any other part of Indiana. This won’t fly.

Doesn’t understand how the business school and its programs stay afloat every year. LOL.

It is Bloomington. It is why we put Indiana University - Bloomington on our resumes. It matters and proves my point. There is a difference. You don’t understand that difference and the location and how it is so different than every other commuter school with the Indiana names. I know Pat Hopkins personally and you don’t think he would get a lot of pressure on this. He would. Think about that business school pressure on keeping it black instead of red annually.

Tell UT that when they made a similar hire. It will get bad. Douchebags don’t run this place.

If they want money cut from a lot of their university programs….they are going to feel some pain. There will be fall back on this and it won’t be pretty.

That won’t either. You have to understand the culture of this place. You have to understand what the base. I don’t think Brownell would be a bad hire for this place. He is a very good basketball coach. He isn’t sexy. Neither is McCollum and others but I think they are a better fit for here. Dude I listened to that podcast and all I heard at the end were people who probably have never set foot in Bloomington. It’s the worst of the worst of this fanbase. I will just leave it at that.

There will be social pressure and money pressure. You haven’t seen crap yet. Bloomington is a different beast than the rest of Southern Indiana and this won’t fly.

Beard won’t unite this base. He will further divide it. Remember when UT hired Schiano and had to back out of it. Similar stuff will happen. People pushing for him most likely never attended IU-Bloomington and the Bloomington part matters. They don’t understand the dynamics here and how people will take it. I will pull my donations and most likely my firm will as well. One partner to me the other day. Hiring someone like Beard will make me done with that place.

That’s why I am saying doesn’t make sense. Would have to be out of left field or for someone not to coach the tourney which has never happened.

Who is not on that list? I know McCollum is on their list. I don’t know if he is going to be hired though.

An assistant coach. That’s completely different than a head coach.

So you think a coach won’t coach the tourney? That would be a first.

Few will make it. Drew will make it. McCollum should make it no matter what.

Which would mean they aren’t making the tourney if something is announced next week.

Based on that logic. Power conferences start their tourneys next week and selection Sunday is the following Sunday. It has to be someone not going to a tourney, an assistant coach or an NBA person with that logic.

How can people find out next week? It would have to be one of two things….an NBA person or a person who is in the NIT or worse.

Alford sucks. He failed at Iowa and UCLA. I am being polite here. He has produced crap results in 50% for the time at Nevada. He would be a crappy hire and hiring anyone with Indiana roots outside of May will be crap.

There is talk that the Big Ten and SEC will gobble up the bigger other programs and create two leagues. Kick everyone out. Apparently they are already talking about it.
