Background checks are fun especially for high level jobs. My firm called people I gave them names to and people I did not. People talk. Good and bad. It’s what they are hired to do. There were reports that Louisville and Kentucky found more instances of stuff through their process. Record searches, interviews, etc. People talk especially when something bad happens and becomes known.

Poster came on and said there were more instances than the one where he was arrested with alcohol and abuse. That checks with what people said about the Kentucky and Louisville searches. They said that they uncovered more out there on him.

Then he wasn’t meant to be here. This is the problem right. Coaches need to get players that fit their needs and their system. Screw them if they don’t want to be here or don’t fit. I think Archie’s biggest problem is going for the Madonna type recruits that didn’t fit his style or type of player aka Langford and Lander. People may dislike Painter but he learned not to go for the higher rated kids all the time. He got kids that fit him and his system. Worked out well for him afterwards. If an Indiana kid or a 5 star kid doesn’t fit what you are trying to accomplish then why try to make it work? It’s mismanagement in the largest way. I don’t think Sisley is going anywhere and he would fit in fine.

That’s fine. It will come. It’s first building with the type of kids you want to run that system effectively. This is something we have lacked for years. A foundation for the system. We need that. Then you sprinkle in the NBA like talent that fits that talent.

I will say this… Brownell is a good coach. Would be interesting to see what he can do with talent. He is very well liked in Indiana by the AAU coaches. His problem has always been the resources to get said talent. McCollum….selfishly this is where I hope we go. There are a ton of other good coaches out there after these two.

SOS goes into Defensive and Offensive which is why you see no low majors in the top 25. UC San Diego is 39. Drake is the MVC top team. With conference realignment MVC has dropped down a notch. They didn’t get two teams last year with ISU and Drake.

Post it. I know someone who has been saying McCollum to IU since January.

I am just saying you look at the whole body of work not just one fluke year or one tournament run. Always hated the interim coach hire or letting a guy stay because of a run. Never really works out a lot. Look at this year with Diebler. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

That was a fluke. They sucked all year and had the ACC tourney and tournament run. That is why I liked IU making the call early. Prevent any stupidity from happening. Shouldn’t have given Keatts the extra year.

Are you brain dead? I literally said the biggest concern with him is recruiting at this level. He is a great X and O guy. Recruiting would be a concern. I would hire him over Beard. Lawsuits suck. I wouldn’t want to get fired for the crap he is capable of.

If you hire Beard, yes. Pressure sucks. Gillespie crumbled under it due to his dependencies on alcohol. Indiana and Kentucky jobs are hard on people. Not worth the risk. That’s all I meant.

Some are willing to take a risk on a guy who could turn out to be the next Billy G. That’s not worth the risk either. Tons of other coaches like Byington, Wade, etc. that could kill it here also.

It’s not. I know for a fact that he has talked with IU. He is a great person and great basketball coach. Like others have said, concern would be recruiting at this level.

None of those. I am just not a POS that thinks what he did was OK. I am a male in his 40s. But way to go to show your true colors there… The Knight comment…..We need a reboot of this program. Just ditch the past and move on. It’s holding us back. That’s my point. No one should give two craps whether a coach is associated with Knight. It shouldn’t even be a criteria.

We need to cut the entire old guard and Knight tree off. We need an entire reboot. Beards offense is difficult to watch. Don’t think people have really watched him. Anyone ever associated with Knight needs to be removed from the list. They are living in their fantasy world.

Only reason these people want him is because the wife beater is associated with Knight. That’s it.

Dude, if you hit a woman and end up in jail, you are the worst kind of person. Not a weak moment. It shows how much of a POS you really are. Everyone can hold me to that standard and if I did do it, please ban me from ever being a partner at another firm. I just guess I know I will never do that.

Which is why he shouldn’t be hired. It will be another crap storm.
