  1. Wish it didn’t take Woodson 4 months into the season to figure that out.
  2. Despite all the disheartening news earlier this evening, this team hasn’t quit amidst all the wild rumors and speculation. Hats off to them.
  3. Playing our way back onto the bubble….of the NIT that is. That’s the spirit.
  4. Not sure what’s more believable; the fact we only attempted a single 3 pointer during an entire half of basketball or the fact that we’re winning despite attempting a single 3 pointer during an entire half.
  5. There’s a better chance Dolson sent Scott’s email to the Ed School for students to proofread it than him actually reading it.
  6. His hands weren’t tied. He’s a shill just like those that came before him.
  7. It’s not cursed. It’s incompetently run.
  8. Might as well rename SSAH the Flanner Buchanan Assembly Hall because that’s what home games are going to resemble next season. Just unbelievable.
  9. Better start fielding AD resumes while we’re at it. Zero chance Dolson survives next season.
  10. Bruce Pearl worked his way up the corporate ladder for nearly two decades before landing a big boy basketball gig. Again, not saying Dusty May can’t or won’t succeed at Indiana, he absolutely can. But it’s far from the grand slam many people have stated should IU go that route. It’s a bloop double at best.
  11. He doesn't have a shot outside 7-8 feet and isn't a rim protector. That's no bueno in the NBA for someone 7'1.
  12. That largely depends on who he'd be able to bring from FAU and who he can convince to stay. If he's trying to fill 8-9 scholarships in year 1 it's not going to be a fun year.
  13. All very true, but again it's going to be a part of the job he hasn't yet experieced. How's he going to manage ego's of 4 and 5* players? Does he sit a 5* freshman on a near 7 figure deal over an upperclassmen? Can he get a bunch of highly touted kids to play in his system right away? These are all legitimate concerns and issues May has yet to face. It's a huge reason why Archie failed.
  14. But when you know you're going to get 4-5 years and are in no pressure to win from day 1, it changes the entire dynamic of things.
  15. Shaka Smart was a disaster at Texas. Same with John Groce at Illinois. Todd Lickliter was horrible at Iowa. It happens every coaching cycle.
  16. It isn't just Archie. There are dozens among dozens of coaches who have built programs at the lower levels because they have coached in no pressure situations and given the necessary time that have completely flopped at a higher level.
  17. Davis is the only one with a chance to make the NBA and I don't think he's a surefire draft pick. Goldin doesn't have a game that translates to the next level. He's good around the rim offensively but not a great rim protector or rebounder for his size.
  18. I would strongly caution going down this road. Indiana is currently being coached by a former playing legend and I would say more than half the fan base is ready to move on from him after year 3 and it's a very real chance it's going to happen. And that's with making the tournament in years 1 and 2. May isn't going to get 5-6 years to build the program they way he wants too like he did at FAU. If he misses the tournament in years 1 and 2 he's going to have to do some serious damage in year 3 or risk losing a big portion of the fan base.
  19. Almost has to bring those 4 starters. He needs to win and win quick. He's not going to get a honeymoon like Crean in the portal era.
  20. Wasn't that Crean and Archie's upside too? Isn't that really the upside for any coach under the age of 50? I don't think many AD's have a 25 year plan in mind when evaluating potential candidates.
  21. Getting Dusty May because Bruce Pearl said no is one thing, if it comes out that Bruce Pearl legitimately wanted the job and IU told him no and hired Dusty May instead.....multiple people should be out of a job and college athletics forever.
  22. Not apples to apples, but a big reason why many fear the hiring of Dusty May. (and yes I know the differences have been laid out by some of the more ardent May supporters)
  23. What do you mean the way they fired Tom Crean? Tom Crean well overstayed his welcome in my opinion.
  24. I have a hard time believing Rabjohns would flip on a sitting head coach as quickly as he has without being told to do so. I'm not the biggest Rabjohns fan but he's definitely very well plugged and has always been one of the last people to defect from a lame duck regime. This seems calculated.
