  1. Multiple as in like 1 or 2 schools. We know what kind of season Kentucky had with their $22 million roster. Michigan did it right this year by A+ player evaluation. Lendeborg was obviously the headliner and costed a fortunate, but guys like Mara and Johnson were backup and rotational players at their old programs, they weren’t $3-4 million additions. Cadeau was basically run out of Chapel Hill. It also helped that they had a couple key depth pieces stick around (Tschetter, Gayle, Burnett) and got max output from their freshman. This is hopefully where Ryan Carr earns his paycheck. Have the foresight to not only see that someone like Nick Boyd is better than Tayton Conerway, but also knows he’s worth half the price. IU isn’t going to go all-in on 2-3 players until they have a balanced roster with some continuity. Nor should they.
  2. Again, IU doesn’t have an unlimited payroll for next year. I’d love to have Bidunga. I’d love to have Haralson. I’d love to have Vaaks, etc, etc But it’s not going to happen because IU doesn’t have $20-25 million to spend on a roster. Overpay for somebody like Bidunga, sure. But if you go that route, you have to bat close to .1000 on your secondary pieces. We still need 3-4 starters and a couple of solid bench pieces. This is where having a guy like Ryan Carr comes into play.
  3. Says who? Kentucky spent $22mil and was lucky to survive the first round. IU isn’t going to have anywhere close to a $20mil payroll next year no matter how much you want to speak it into existence. IU needs to spend wisely, not blindly.
  4. Didn’t say not to overspend. Spending nearly half of your remaining budget on someone like Haralson however isn’t wise. Now someone like Bidunga maybe.
  5. Assuming IU is working on ~$12 million budget which has been rumored, paying $6mil for Haralson would be wildly irresponsible, as it would be for all of maybe 1 or 2 players. Have to think IU has probably spent close $2mil in player retention + incoming freshman, dumping 60% of your remaining budget on one player when you still need 3-4 starters and a solid bench piece or two is going to lead to a disaster. I like Haralson a lot, he’s not worth more than $3mil to IU next year.
  6. No. I think Andrew Luck genuinely loves football. He was smart enough to call it quits. Not many people can do that.
  7. I think Romeo was twice the athlete and player but over time simply viewed basketball as a chore. Never seemed to enjoy the game even at the high school level.
  8. If you’re going to pay $4-5 million for one player, there’s going to be 20-25 guys better than Haralson.
  9. I'd much rather take Haralson and then pair him with a combo guard who can shoot and another knock down shooter on the wing.
  10. Burton and Haralson are both heavily ball dominant players. Burton doesn't shoot it efficiently and Haralson can't shoot it at all.
  11. I don't see where Burton and Haralson fit on the court together. Haralson is essentially an undersized point forward.
  12. I don't think they played a lick of team defense. Freitag also missed the last 10 or so games with a concussion.
  13. High level 3pt shooter from DC. Could fill Dorn’s role and can actually handle the ball. I wouldn’t hate a Freitage/Sabol package deal.
  14. Hammond as in the Santa Clara Christian Hammond? Would be huge
  15. Curtis Enis son. Also has a “Do Not Contact” tag. Probably following his coach to Providence.
  16. Really nice player. Played hard and gave 100% effort. But at 6'8 230 lbs, you're going to be limited in this league unless you're a freak athlete, something Alexis was not.
  17. No clue, just seen him play a few times and caught my eye very quickly. He's a Minneapolis native so definitely see Minnesota and maybe Iowa and Iowa State getting involved. He was buried on the depth chart at Wisconsin as a true freshman last year, lots of minutes available there now.
  18. This is one I have been waiting on and highlighted a month or so ago. Very interested to see where he ends up.
  19. Woodson's two year development of TJD was an attractive pitch to guys like Ware, Ballo, etc as were his ties and connections to the NBA. IU nor this staff have anything like that going for them right now.
  20. Again, why is it a telling sign? All of his good players were out of eligibility.
  21. Amani Hansberry was probably the one guy we needed. He was tied at the hip to Chester Frazier who recruited him to Illinois and has followed him since. Jayden Stone ended up having a good year for Missouri but didn't play a single minute at West Virginia due to injury and was even questionable if he could play this year.
  22. Not really. The only person from last years WVU team really tied to DeVries was his son. Everyone else was either out of eligibility or were tied to the assistants he hired, that team was thrown together in a hurry like this years team. He didn't bring any of his assistants with him other than Norton.
  23. It's flabbergasting isn't it? Especially coming from the guy who has spent all of 2026 saying IU needs a major overhaul in talent and size positionally.
