We’ve won 3 conference games the last 3 years. Recruiting is back to Bill Lynch levels bad. There was about 15k fans at the Michigan State game last week. IU is going to lose some 50 players to graduation/portal and Dolson is going to do something dumb like hire ARE and task him with rebuilding a roster despite having ZERO recruiting or head coaching experience. This goes FAR beyond $20 million. You tell me.

Again, I said he earned an extension after 2020. You can also offer a coach an extension and not fully guarantee his $30 million buyout. If somebody like Florida State really wanted Allen, they were going to get him regardless. Dolson handcuffed himself for no reason and IU once again is back to being the laughing stock of the B10, holding on to a coach two years too long AND still paying him $20 million to go away. Utter incompetence from the head of the athletic department. He shouldn’t be allowed to make the next hire.

I’m genuinely asking? A contract extension was warranted, no doubt. But while making him unpoachable, Dolson made him unfirable without serious ramifications by fully guaranteeing his buyout. I don’t know anybody outside of OSU, Bama, etc who have paid $30 million just to hire Allen away from IU on top of paying him another $30-40 million in salary. 14-7 is a phenomenal two year run for IU standards, but a $60 million investment for another program during a global pandemic? Nonsense. Dolson shouldn’t have a job.

Willie Fritz is the best candidate on that list by a mile. Jeff Traylor wouldn’t be terrible but not something I would be thrilled with. Wommack and Candle are “safe” hires whose tenures could go either way but both would need help and a lot of time. Hart does nothing for me and better off shutting the program down if ARE is seriously considered for the head coaching position.

Because people who push ill-faith narratives annoy me, especially when they can't back anything up. One or two anonymous people posting that Cupps should be starting over Xavier Johnson doesn't represent a percent of this fanbase. Isn't it crazy that less than 3% of the world's population are active Twitter uses yet somehow dictate 100% of the world's viewpoints. Never understood that crap.

I'm an adult so I don't read Twitter and I'm going to need to see quotes where "more than a few on here" have said they want X benched in favor of Cupps. I have seen several people however suggest that going to a 3 guard lineup (with X and Cupps playing side by side) has been our best lineup to date...and they aren't wrong either.

Because we turn the ball over a ton, especially against Army. We're ultra-efficient at the rim (26-34) through 2 games. 76% isn't sustainable through a B10 season that I agree, but we have the size to wear teams down and get to the foul line. We missed a ton of FT's against FGCU and turned the ball over several times in the last 3 minutes making what should have been a comfortable double-digit win a lot closer than it should have been. We were also terrible defensively which has zero bearing on taking more perimeter shots. Against Army we turned the ball over 19 times. Cut that in half you're looking at ~20 point win given how efficiently we were scoring. I'd love for IU to be a high volume 3 point shooting team, we simply don't have the personnel for it. Fix the turnover issues and defend the 3 point line better and this team is in good shape.
