  1. Like your grammar? If those schools want to make a minor league hire let them. First time in awhile IU has been better than both Michigan and Ohio State. I'd like to keep it that way.
  2. A Michigan fan-site wants to hire Dusty May!! I stopped reading once I saw Jay Wright's name mentioned, should tell you all you need to know about the validity of the source.
  3. I wasn't aware any of those jobs were open? And if one of those schools wants to hire Dusty May, let them.
  4. I'm not sure you understand what viable means.
  5. If Dusty May was a student manager at any other B10 school he's not even a candidate for this job. Fact.
  6. Letting morals get in the way of hiring the best basketball coach is the exact reason why Indiana is a has been program. It doesn't make any sense.
  7. He's won literally everywhere he's been and it doesn't take him 5 years to get the ball rolling. Don't overthink this chief.
  8. Neither of those schools have anywhere CLOSE to the expectations as Indiana. X's and O's is only a fraction of what it takes to succeed in Bloomington.
  9. Now list literally the 200-300 up and comers/assistants the last 20 years who have flamed out before year 5 at a bigger school. You listed the exceptions to the rule, not the norm.
  10. And he's taking a team that won 12 games last year to the NCAAT. IU's tournament bubble burst before the start of the calendar year.
  11. Viable alternative? I've come back to the same candidate for the last month. Chris Beard is only an unrealistic candidate by the grace of choice.
  12. Then let someone like Florida State or West Virginia hire him and if in 5-6 years down the road IU is looking for a new coach and he's proven his worth at a P5 school, then offer him the job.
  13. I've been saying it for 3 weeks. Chris Beard would be the one and only candidate if I were in charge of the athletics department. And if I was handcuffed by the IU president and BoT I'd tell them not only are you going to have to find a new basketball coach on your own, you're going to have to find a new AD while you're at it.
  14. I'll ask the same question I asked on the other board a few weeks ago: If you were Scott Dolson or simply the IU AD and your livelihood (job status) was dependent on the success of the next basketball hire, is Dusty May your guy? Would you bet your job on Dusty May elevating IU's basketball program? If your answer is yes then you're lying to yourself.
  15. Because his resume/experience doesn't warrant a job of Indiana's magnitude, fluke F4 run be damned.
  16. What isn't there to get? IU simply cannot afford to hire somebody who "might" work out. Dusty May is a complete roll of the dice. Our last two hires have been complete roll of the dices and have ended about how you'd expect.
  17. Would be a total kick to the d***. Why did this guy have to be a student manager at IU 25 years ago lol?
  18. This is Dolson's honeywell. He's so unqualified for this job it's comical at this point. Outside Bloomington North or South, not sure what other athletic department he's capable of running. He'll never resign because he's never going to sniff an equal job opportunity after the fact.
  19. lol what? Jarrett Culver, B12 POY and AA, was literally from….Lubbock.
  20. Of course. But he wasn’t a 5* recruit with NBA aspirations.
  21. I’m sure MM could develop into a nice collegiate player if he sticks around, but his prospective professional aspirations are always going to be limited because he lacks raw athleticism. That’s not going to change coming back to IU or transferring to a different school. Another year in a college weight room would definitely help him but he’s likely never going to be a first round draft pick.
  22. Sure he could use a little bit more strength, but he gets blown by on the perimeter way too much (because he can’t move laterally) and he gets destroyed at the rim because he can’t beat his defender off the dribble.. He’s shooting 51% at the rim this year. That’s honestly embarrassing for somebody 6’8. Reneau and Walker both shoot 70% at the rim at similar heights. 6’4 Galloway is shooting 60+%.
  23. I do think if he played in a system predicated on spacing with actual competent guards, he'd hit a good volume of perimeter shots with efficiency to boot, his shot looks pure almost every time it leaves his hand. But that's never going to fix his athleticism. He's undraftable in the 1st round given his lack of athleticism. That isn't changing by sticking around in college another year.
  24. Doesn't matter when MM leaves, it's always going to be uphill for him sticking in the NBA. No offense but he's the least athletic 5* I have ever seen. He's 6'8 and plays like he's 6'2. I've never seen a player of that height get beat up at the rim the way he does. But he's also good a very smooth shooting stroke and if he actually gave a **** on defense I think he could potentially be a 2nd unit 3 and D type player. Always a role for that in the NBA. But coming back to IU or transferring to another school is never going to fix his lack of athleticism.
  25. One would hope, but then again it's Dolson we're talking about. He just gave Woodson a raise after last year.
