He may have to play just because if we have guard injuries. Its either that or they will have to play Banks at guard.

What are you basing your 5-10 minutes a game from Leal on? He might be on the team cause he likes IU but that does not mean he has the skill to play big ten basketball.

Newton is already out who knows if he will even play. My whole point it nobody should wine come feb if we have a bunch of inuries and have no guard depth. We had an open grant and choose not to use it.

I just dont really buy that. There were literally hundreds of two guards and programs like Auburn, Tenn, Arkansas, etc all loaded up with top talent despite loaded rosters. It is a nice excuse but the bottom line is we got nobody and it could end up biting us if we have injuries. Leavng a grant open in this day and age with the portal is almost criminal imo.

While that may be true without newton we now have a numbers issue. Having another body even if they are the same skill level as Gunn would have been very helpful. A guy like Johnson or Trey goes down we are in a world of hurt imo.

The fact we are going to have to possible rely heavily on an upproven sophmore and a true freshman when there were hundreds of older two guards we could have gotten still baffles me. If we get in an inury situation I dont want to hear woodson talking about how he has to play young guys with no experience that is 100% on him for not bringing in another guard;.

Leal has not been able to get off the bench is three years I would not get my hopes up.

Cupps is like what 160 pounds? I am sure he can give some spot minutes but it is hard to imagine him playing 25 minutes a game if x or trey get hurt or are in foul trouble. It may work out but it could also be a disaster if trey or x get hurt. Plus Cupps is a point guard so trey really has one backup in gunn and that is it period. MM really has no backup unless they play on 6'8 banks playing guard.
