Great things coming to IU Ladies basketball program…sink or swim. The transfer portal players that have average ability at major conference level and are somewhat a dime a dozen roster is going to be upgraded. The transfer players seem to be pretty replaceable. Maybe, T. Moren has found some NIL cash ( don’t know but it would 100% help). Two players that IU Ladies on current roster they need to keep. Garzon and Ciezki plus Beaumont (that’s 3)…and nice to keep a backup center (Wisemen) . and Kadlecova just because. Yes, it seems listening to post game interviews T. Moren is holding progam and herself accountable to be a high level program /standardand maybe at a crossroads in T. Moren era. The ship is going to sail strong or else. Cotie McMahon/OSU had a positive relationship with T. Moren in the summer that Moren was coaching her. (did not like the way she went through post game line with Tennessee coach after losing game…uncalled for though she was frustrated and post game interview was a bad look or maybe competitiveness coming out because she was frustrated and mad. This year Ohio State was not as good as they have been. (T. Moren possibility could be a game changer for McMahon…with Yardon, Shay, and a big good center along with Beaumont and the two incoming freshman who are not going to push anyone around in big ten…and another high level transfer portal player along with Kadlecova. (Don’t need as many players like in football Lol).

Great opportunity to right the ship to move on to bigger things with better talent. Regardless, of positivity from coach struggling earlier vs pre season schedule and really allowing mid pack big ten teams to take games along with more elite teams being able to just kick it up a gear when battling with some good effort (moral victories) is a recipe for losing (IU football in years past…see what the future holds for short and long term on that one).

Maybe, 20 wins and just making March Madness isn’t quite good enough Need to keep Garzon and Shay with incoming freshman….and they need high level teammates to pass the ball to and for those high level teammates to pass the ball to them……Maryland revamped their roster last year.

All the teams that talk about love, togetherness and family on both the men’s and women’s side in basketball and sports in general….Now, I understand…..They are talking about blended families.

The transfer portal can be compared to a full blooded hound vs mixed breed hound….mixed breed hounds do make good pets.

And Oklahoma Ladies who IU Ladies managed a sweet 16 over at home just a year ago get the number 1 high school recruit for 2025

Probably need to slow down a little. Lilly Meister is not in transfer portal. And if she is content at IU Ladies keeping things in perspective there is no reason to transfer. Options: 1. go to a lesser program 2. Drop a level to a mid major 3. Or just stay put and be happy (sounds good really, and probably the best option). Though some do find success and happiness….many of these transfer portal players don’t find success and happiness nor do they accomplish much. Bottom line you have to be good enough.

And the last post game T. Moren without being too specific actually did address player and team needs for next year. Without mentioning any names because everyone can figure the names out but as long as a nucleus of 5, 6, or 7 current players stay plus the two incoming freshman….then some ( not hopefully high level) but really high level players from transfer portal the IU Ladies will be in business for 2025-2026. Dr. Pam Whitten IU Ladies need NIL money….use your networking skills.

Lilly Meister makes a lot of sense. It seems it would be mutual because after playing behind Holmes she was given a pretty big opportunity all the way to Christmas break.

When high level somewhat elite players (IU has a couple). Those couple players may want to play with a team of other high level elite players. Then it becomes more issues than just NIL. Thin recruiting for whatever reason catches up. Elite recruits have to want to come….To much emphasis placed on losing a couple elite players in successive years rather than having elite players to ready to replace them.

Transfer portal, NIL (and outrageous negotiated coaching salaries on the men’s side that started all this several years ago)for several years now ….feels like it’s a month of like living in a Rubber room. March Madness Tournaments along with NITs were enough to deal with.

It’s hard to be a freshman and sophomore impact player when they are not effective scorers at this level and have trouble scoring in traffic. Got to be able to put the ball in the basket besides all the other stuff. And I know the point was made about the expectations regarding Beaumont (which she is a promising player) but she is still unproven. It was said that Lilly had a great summer….but it looked like it was more based on hope than reality.

IU Ladies Basketball and parallel to Seton Hall/PJ Carlesimo considering number of overseas players …possibilities….Gal Raviv Quinnipiac if IU Ladies even want to go after a small guard? Not sure depending on how things shake out if another small guard is wanted. This one might be worthwhile…..along with Clara Silva/KY (no contact meaning she already has idea or agent is handling things).

Clara Silva/KY….do not contact (a tall one) @ 6’6” or 6’7” I suppose whether or not she is standing up straight. Excellent statistics in Portugal. Highly sought after.

Observation: Many of the things that T. Moren, coaching staff, and players talk about and demonstrate that make IU Ladies Basketball Program high character and class…..I also see in many other top Ladies programs around the country demonstrated in their own way.

Oklahoma Ladies on their home court must have remembered playing at IU last year and took it out on Iowa Ladies 2025 March Madness. Two LA teams took over Big Ten Ladies basketball this year. The rest of the big ten really hasn’t shown much 2024-2025.

IU Ladies may have NIL issues for specific players now on the team. (projected starters) IU Ladies also have the issue of NIL to recruit specific high level impact players from the transfer portal to help specifically two returning projected starters…..or those projected starters could shop teams where there is more help (better players to show case talents). However, the downside is that a player could get in a negative situation (example: Van Lith from Louisville to LSU though she corrected situation with transfer to TCU). Both, Shay and Yardon don’t have an extra year to self correct. T. Moren is trying to thread a needle in this process. IU better get with the Ladies program and quit teeter tottering….Players (current and those being recruited) can see what is going on. Both, Yardon and Shay (like all coaches and players) they want to play on high level winning teams equal to their own talent level.
