  1. I understand it was a necessity in order to get a guaranteed victory while adhering to both the FBS requirement of only having one FCS opponent per season but also that we have 9 conference games, further stretching thin our chances to get wins, but the idea of having to go to a Group of Five school and play them makes us look bad to our peers. Yes, we do have the most losses in FBS history, and a rather pitiful history in football overall, so it's not like we have anything to brag about, but still.
  2. (By the way, it looks nice. Just wished the Sycamores could be competitive.)
  3. Don't you love it when your program is cheap?
  4. I like the Hoosiers winning, but I hate the inconsistency.
  5. For some people, that is a huge benefit, and I am eternally grateful for their services in the health industry (it's one of the few places you can get decent dental services like root canals and crowns that won't break the bank if you're on a low income), but I get slighted whenever Horizon League "purists" keep calling them "Ooey-Pooey" and get miffed about having to put up with IUPUI in their league.
  6. I usually just try and listen to the affiliates. Those are still free. Of course, that causes problems, like when you wanted to listen to the football postgame show after Purdue every Thanksgiving.
  7. Since this is gonna be the final Crossroads Classic, might as well close it out with a Hoosiers victory.
  8. IUPUI lost to Chicago State the other night. Their only win was against D-III Spalding, and will probably be the only win this season. In my opinion, they're a strong contender for the worst team in the country. They lost their best players from last season and the only good talent they have is a seventh-year senior. Luckily for them, IUPUI has never had any interest in athletics as a motivation to bring in students, and the Natatorium is mostly for Olympic events, so this ineptitude will, as usual, go under the radar, but it remains a source of frustration to me.
  9. Easier said. Then done. When you mentally and physically have invested so much time and energy with this group, it's hard to walk away or find other things. You can say "sunk cost fallacy" or similar arguments towards this, but it's hard to leave Indiana football when you followed Indiana football your whole life. My one hope is, before I die, the team wins one bowl game.
  10. Don't patronize us, Saban.
  11. The man, at one point, said not playing football was worse than his parents dying, (yeah, he wasn't close to either of them, but out of context, it is a weird thing to tell people) so that oughta explain how he prioritizes his life. As for UMass, part of the problem was... UMass can't recruit anyone cause how can you convince a player to go to western Massachusetts where it's unlikely anyone will see you unless you're playing the role of cupcake? And there's a constant war between teachers and other staff versus the athletics department over whether or not football should be demoted back to FCS or abandoned entirely, which affects your ability to recruit or have resources. I don't know if it'll translate to a much better outlook, but after whiffing on two awful OCs, hopefully this guy will work. He just has to get rid of Hiller, that's all. We need much better protection for our quarterbacks as far too often, our line just stands around looking like idiots wondering how the QB got sacked or injured.
  12. A fun game tonight will be "Spot the other school fans in attendance".
  13. Bama will get an automatic bye into the championship game.
  14. I salute that Hoosier fan that bought tickets to the Championship and still went.
  15. Attachment issues, probably? It feels like Allen doesn't like substitutions, which was why Gremel stayed as the starter all day and he only went with Tuttle (until Tuttle got hurt) after Penix got injured. I'm not a psychological expert, but it just feels like he purposefully keeps guys in for either morale or mental reasons, regardless of their quality.
  16. Didn't expect to be that close. I was just being pessimistic not trying to predict how things would actually go.
  17. In other words, he's probably going to hire someone who is going to run it up the middle constantly and gets WRs in space.
  18. Sheridan is out, let's see if Hiller and Heard are next.
  19. He actually did the deed. Now let's see if he hires someone with experience or falls back on old habits with hiring people.
  20. LEO comes off like "farting unicorn" level of love.
  21. I always hate this weekend because they always cut the postgame show due to IHSAA finals and other stuff. I had a bet that Tom Allen was gonna say "LEO!" one more time and I don't wanna spend money on TuneIn premium.
