He apparently recruited well enough from the pool of his available D2 players. How do we know he can’t recruit from a pool of D1 players.

you can coach, then you can coach. And as for recruiting, the pool of players one can recruit in D2 are not for most part D1 level players, they’re not going to go d2. so if his players were good enough to win like he has then he must recruit pretty well from the available pool. So why do we think all of sudden he won’t be able to recruit from the available D1 pool of talent? Not advocating, have no horse in this race but I could get behind him. He just wins.

Lol, no offense, but there’s nothing indicating the coaching search is unraveling out of control. There’s no indication of anything concerning the coaching search. Tweets and massage bard postings aren’t indications. I believe there are VERY FEW people who know what stage the search is in or who’s contacted IU or who IU has contacted. We shall eventually see who’s hired and the only sure thing is some will be happy, some neutral, and some hating the hire.

Although he was a mid coach, he was one of the best players in IU history so he deserves respect for that. That said, it was time to move on. Think he cared deeply about IU but not the right coach for the job.

If he miraculously makes a serious run in the dance it probably would help in his “retirement” as he could say he got Indians back where it belonged and leave with his pride intact.

Speaking from experience, he most undoubtedly did detailing the when, amount of $ to be received, etc.
