  1. Kathy just refusing to deny we're still actively talking to Brad, after dropping hints all afternoon (that we're not in communication with "active coaches"), is perhaps the best rumor I've seen this week.
  2. Don't know if this has already been posted, but Brownell's buyout is over $8 million. I would be shocked if we spent that kind of cash to buy him out. I think you can put that speculation to rest.
  3. She still hasn't denied my interpretation of her posts suggesting that IU has been in direct contact with a non-active coach...
  4. What if it was Pearl all along?
  5. I would probably take someone like McCasland over Huss, but I agree if we're into the McCollum/Brownell tier, then I like Huss better than McCollum. Higher level experience, better Indiana ties, more likely to be able to recruit elite talent off the bat.
  6. Again, unless that means we've been talking to non-active coaches, and perhaps have a verbal deal in place with one...
  7. Put differently, everything she is saying (unless I missed a post...which could definitely be the case), is consistent with Dolson having a verbal agreement with Brad. Edit: Or, I guess, with Brad having turned down the position...
  8. I'm going to give Kathy the benefit of the doubt here. We all know she's big on process. And she's said several times she is choosing her words carefully. So the fact that she has, at least twice, said that we aren't talking with "active coaches" yet must mean something. There is no reason to use "active" otherwise. So I think one can conclude that, if you believe Kathy, that means we have been talking to non-active coaches directly. That could mean Brad or Wright. Sadly, though, that could also mean Turgeon...
  9. Exactly. It totally depends on the individual. Some 65 year olds have more energy and drive than some 55 year olds. Some don't. You need to evaluate each candidate on what they have left in the tank, not what age they are. I'd also say, for that matter, that I wouldn't rule someone out just because they only have 5 or 6 strong years left. We could use 5 or 6 really good years to get the program back on track. Better that than someone who is 50-50 to get canned in 4 or 5 years after a bunch of so-so (or worse) seasons.
  10. Which path is that? McCollum?
  11. Guess we can rule out DMV as Goodman's source.
  12. Not to rain on the flight tracking parade (I agree the timing of a Bloomington to Hanscom flight is odd), but if Dolson were going to charter a jet to Boston, wouldn't he have had it pick him up in Indy, rather than race back to Btown for a 4:40 flight?
  13. One person here would be ecstatic with Turgeon.
  14. I did think it was interesting he was the heavy betting favorite in the odds released today.
  15. In that case, I'm thinking it's safe to say they eliminated Turgeon...
  16. You're about 3 hours behind schedule, DMV...
  17. @Chris007 You mentioned Dolson wanting this done by the 17th for portal purposes. Do you think the timeline changes if we make the NCAAs? I would be surprised to see us announce a new coach a couple days before a first round match up. But I could be wrong. I'm assuming that if it's Brad, we'll hear within a couple days of being eliminated. If therels no announcement on Brad within 72 hours of the season ending, then we're probably hiring someone else.
  18. McCasland does seem to be flying under the radar quite a bit in this one...
  19. We appreciate you Chris. Hope my posting contervailing thoughts isn't taken as anything other than engaging in the dialogue. The vast majority here would rather have people post what they hear than not post at all. Haters are going to hate no matter what.
  20. Yeah, it seems like if there are either NDAs in place then any info is unreliable. But I doubt that they are using NDAs. I'd expect Dolson is just sharing info on a need to know basis among people he trusts.
  21. Interesting. I agree that they might be vetting other fallback candidates. I just meant specifically Beard as a guy I doubt they'd be vetting, as he seems like a last resort fallback. But I could be wrong!
