This site is mentioned in the College Basketball Blue Ribbon Yearbook, particularly this thread, in the assessment of the coach

He played 19 mpg last year, but he also had Trevion Williams to spell him. I'd expect that number to go up... I don't think 25 mpg is unreasonable for him... Edey is pretty much unstoppable if he gets it within 7 feet of the basket. The Boilers have to find more offense somewhere, but they're not the only Big 10 team in that situation...
-
Maybe not. Beyond their recent pickup of Jenkins, they're kinda thin in the backcourt. But Edey is a proven frontcourt scorer, and Furst, Gillis, Morton (although I've seen talk of him playing the point), and Kaufman-Renn will be a pretty good frontcourt rotation. And though I intensely despise the Boilers, I think Painter is one of the 2 or 3 best coaches in the league. And I think the league will be a bit down this year.

Don Fischer & Mike Woodson Interview (TONIGHT @7:30)

Woody might not be as low key as we think... Sounds like he can have an edge to him if you poke at him... -

Woody's first "thank you" is to Bob Knight...A great tribute to RMK... -

Don't know for sure, because I'm not sure the hire was discussed with the players before it was announced, but going off that, it appears that Khristian did indeed enter the portal before he knew... -

"Times have changed" is really irrelevant to the conversation...He was able to coach 2 woeful franchises to winning records when other coaches couldn't... -

Here are the Knicks records for the past 23 years...See the 54 wins in 2012-13? See who the coach is? That's the high water mark over that time period...and even in his last year, his 37 wins haven't been matched since... -
You're right...it wasn't publicly announced util 2005...but I think RMK probably had it in mind from the beginning at TT...

Think about it...Sister Jean for us... Hand me a rosary...
-
He's also very positive in his treatment of the players...I think that's the kind of guy kids want to play for any more...They're not into the "scream in your face" types any more... I was skeptical that he would do well at Michigan, but he's starting to win me over...He recruits well enough...Michigan will be a B1G force for the foreseeable future I think...
-
Yes, and they've been rewarded for their idiocy by having one year with a better winning percentage than Woody's last year since then (11 years)... Woody won 53 games there his last year. His successors, Larry Drew and Mike Budenholzer, won 44, 40, 44, and 38 in subsequent years... Change isn't always good...
-
So going from winning 16% of your games in his first year, then going 32%, 37%, 45%, 57%, 65% had nothing to do with coaching... Oooookay... In the Knicks interim season, he took over for a guy who's considered a pretty fair coach and won as many games in 24 games as D'Antoni did in 42, and then winning the division the next year is not good coaching?
-
As I said, note the improvement from year 1 with the Hawks to year 6... Also, his first year of coach of the Knicks, he replace Mike D'antoni who was 18-24...He finished the Knicks out with an 18-6 record...
-
That's just it...He DOESN'T have a "dumpster fire record" at all...See my post on the last page...
-
Leonard Hamilton is 10 years older than Woody, and he's still a pretty formidable coach...
-
For a better look at Woodson, here's his HC record...note the improvement every year with the Hawks, and coaching a James Dolan owned Knicks team to a 1st place finish in the Atlantic conference has to be considered a parting of the Red Sea type miracle...
-
Not at all...I'm old too...But I remember that game well and the stink RMK caused in the post game presser because of the late start time (9 eastern, I think) to accommodate ESPN...

It was 87, but Steve Yoder was the coach and they were 4-14 in B1G play...Bennett didn't go to Wisky until 1995...
