I always start laughing when IU fans suggest coaches that are on the hot seat at another school. Mike White would be a terrible hire.

Those Grizzlies teams were pretty special. He can also mention the insane amounts of money Conley has earned in the NBA. If that doesn’t work, he can mention how he coached Greg Oden into the #1 pick. Or he can talk about coaching Evan Turner, D’Angelo Russell, or even Jared Sullinger. Matta isn’t my first choice at all but he’s not that far removed from coaching at an incredibly high level.

I’m getting to the point where I’m just going to wait and see who IU hires. Too many names involved, too many rumors and it’s getting exhausting.

I really want Beard. I think he’s almost a perfect fit at IU and would be great if we could snag him.

WCBB is just such a different style game. Recruiting and roster management are also different. I can’t think of anyone who has successfully done both.

I don’t think she has the coaching pedigree yet, plus she’s never coached college on any level. This wouldn’t really make sense to me at all.

I really think Beard is the guy. He understands the IU history, he was an assistant for Knight, he’s had tournament success, and he has the charisma to lead a program as demanding as Indiana.

You don’t pay a $10 million buyout to end up with Fife. Go get Beard.

He’s a great coach, but I don’t think he’s realistic due to his buyout and the fact that Alabama would match any offer.

Lots of entitlement in this thread. People provide free info that ends up not working out perfectly and they get attacked. I don’t blame these guys for not wanting to share what they hear anymore. We’re all fans of the same team and I’m looking forward to seeing who ends up leading the program.

I would be VERY happy if we end up with Beard. He’s an excellent coach and he understands how important IU is.
