Just to add to this:
Everyone gets an extra year of eligibility. If seniors return for an extra year at their current school they don’t count in the scholarship numbers. However, a senior who transfers (Al at Providence) will count towards the scholarship numbers.
Plus Armaan showed that he can succeed in a similar style. He does well in the packline and managed to put up decent numbers in an offense that was atrocious. No reason to think he wouldn’t be successful at Virginia.
Losing Franklin would definitely sting but I don’t think it’s an insurmountable loss. The only one on this team who would really belong in this category is TJD.
Jeff Goodman is similar to Woj to me. IU keeps their department very closed off to media access so the national media guys get pissy and have a vendetta against IU. Woj doesn’t have access to lebron so his articles are always Lebron hit pieces. It’s so transparent and honestly trash journalism. Just ignore him and he’ll go away.
I’m really struggling with who to root for. Baylor’s athletics department is really scummy and Scott Drew seems like the king of scummy. I’m not sure how much I care about the undefeated stuff. Gonzaga is fun to watch.
I would lean towards that as well. However, the 16 seeds like having the game because if they win they get a full share of NCAA tournament money, and exposure as being the only game on at that time. It ends up benefitting those programs even if it’s maybe unfair.
They divide it into the last 4 at large bids and the last 4 auto bids. It’s pretty unlikely for the last at large bids to be lower than a 12 seed just because of their regular season resumes.
