  1. the NBA continuously adds next level layers/rules/etc and its ever changing. Yes, each year it gets harder and harder. Was it not deemed "difficult" at the time of rules implemented during the warriors run? Sure, it was. Just like now, this new set of rules are "more difficult" and more challenging. Adaptability is key and if you choose to ignore it, it'll cost you. I don't see a reason as to why one of the most coveted NBA teams in the history of basketball will say "lets stop short of trying to continue greatness for the next 4 or 5 years and do some sort of soft rebuild or not adapt on the fly under new ownership".
  2. yeah, after Bob built and added key players to those teams that won 4 NBA championships during his tenure. Brad is 25% of the way there and with similar cap situations that his teams faced. Bob Myers was also there ALOT longer than Brad. Brad is only on what year 2 of being the GM? the trajectory of this team is deep playoff runs for the foreseeable futures unless major injuries get in the way
  3. all of those points are valid - but during the warriors run with klay, steph, KD, Green and others, they made decisions on the fly and they did just fine with little cap flexibility at the highest available apron but kept pieces moving. i don't see why boston couldn't replicate it over the next 3 or 4 years. Now, of course a new owner throws a curveball so i suppose stevens could elect to take the safer route of the two now that he's won at the highest level of basketball in the NBA.
  4. they are for sale sure, but are they not competing at the highest level? Did they not just win an NBA championship? Do they not have a damn good roster? Parden me for not paying attention to the NBA lol Yes, payrolls continue to rise, that is for every team. You have to spend money to make it to the top. That is the cost of putting together a championship caliber team in todays day and age. you have one offs that make it on a lower cap level but more times than not it's the teams spending the money find their way at the top at the end of the season. Someone will buy the celtics and their financial situation will be resolved. It is the freaking celtics lol
  5. Fife was an IU guy, and he got showed the exit rather quickly by our dictator. lol
  6. Brad Stevens may come here but not until he's 55. He is 48 and in about the best position one can be in for an NBA team with LOADED talent for the foreseeable future. GENERAL MANAGER of the CELTICS. He ain't coming here in the foreseeable future lol
  7. Honestly the Stevens talk has become numb to me. May and Hoiberg I'd be fine with. Doubt May comes considering he just took over UM and is only in year 1.
  8. everyone hanging their hat on Stevens assuming he is the big dog. Will it happen? Maybe, he is still young at 48. He may wait until hes 55 to take the IU job and we'll still be here 7 years from now saying Stevens is COMING!
  9. and has IU made the "right" offer to Stevens?
  10. fair but if his family wants to stay around bloomington, can't fault him for saying lets stay either
  11. He sure as heck couldn't coach in the NBA lol
  12. I'd love to hear your thought Chris. Fife has told me his side in person. Feel free to DM me if you'd rather discuss it in a private matter.
  13. he certainly does think alot of himself i can agree based on my interactions with him. confident though
  14. maybe he'll help us finally get that NKE deal and get rid of Addidas
  15. I'd love Fife back on the team in any position to be honest.
  16. FIFE FOR HEAD COACH his wife and both of his daughters want to stay in Bloomington and do not want to move is what he has relayed to me in recent days. They are content where they are. They are content here long term
  17. so after reading todays chat, what we know is woodson is still the coach and no one knows when CMW will be fired got it lol
  18. and MM has also regressed. Slow footed, iso ball, unwillingness to defend. Some of the players are just flat out lazy
  19. maybe if Tucker would stop shooting 17 ft jumpers for a majority of his shots and always fading away maybe just maybe he'd be playing more.
  20. the fact that Goode had to tell CMW to turn around and go shake hands is downright embarrassing. CMW set us up for failure with that timeout, personal on the court and had no freaking clue who to sub in and out before an atrocious inbounds play
  21. Sisley and Zrno are a nice duo that compliments each other nicely. both do different things. Zrno probably plays more right out of the gate given his age and experience overseas but non the less a good get.
  22. kid can shoot and score and is playing at a "pro" level equivalent overseas. I acutally think he'll do great at IU assuming he does indeed both choose IU and stays regardless of who the coach is. I love the IQ of international born players and what they bring. Look at Illinois, poised with high IQ.
  23. the kid has to know there is a chance of a coaching change on the horizon, considering you've checked all of your boxes up to this point.
