I can't take many more games that feel like we're just not going to be competitive after about 15-20 minutes of real time. This one's not over yet... but oof

Mgbako should sit for the rest of the first half, maybe rest of the game. God awful defense and lack of effort rebounding. Can't stay on the court playing like that.

The platform only has like 400 followers, so I guess I see your point in the sense that if Scott actually wanted to get ahead of a narrative he'd probably do the interview with a more notable outlet. I guess it's nice our AD is a kind person and helping these guys out lol

The only thing I find particularly interesting about it is the fact that this interview occurred and came out the day after Purdue. That tells me Dolson is feeling the tension from the fan base so wanted to get ahead of things and had the comms dept. line up this sort of interview where he can promote the facilities, football hire, give full-throated support of Woody (which he has to do at this point in the season, to expect anything different when asked a question about succession planning on a podcast is silly). Tout his player development, plug TJD, etc. But there is no way this small of a platform would land this high profile of an interview and turnaround a podcast episode same day it was conducted unless the IU comms team expressly approved every aspect of the interview (questions asked/answered, final cut, teaser clips, promo posts on social media ... which touted "Scott Dolson on succession planning." etc.) Clearly he wanted to get a message out, which IMO is just him doing the PR aspect of his job and not necessarily insight into his actual thinking/planning. If anything, I think one could read between the lines and take this as him trying to take some heat off Woody in the immediate and in the longer run, actually be a small step in proactively managing the framing of any narratives on a potential transition. Long winded way of me saying, I don't think we actually know anything more after this interview, lol. TLDR probably not worth the listen

I'm kind of in the same boat, but it feels more like I'm trying to convince myself to be honest. I just don't see it with this team... but tonight is really a key opportunity to start making something out of this season. If this team has any heart in them, they will bring intensity tonight. Whether they can build momentum then sustain it (due to a myriad of factors) is where I have my doubts. They've surprised us before. Tonight would be a very nice one! And with a whole week between games... lord knows we could use a different tune around here between games. Sucks how we have not helped ourselves so much to the point that we really need a win. IMO this is basically a must win, and if not a must win, it's whatever a half a step less than that is. Losing, even with a good showing, just won't leave me feeling semi-optimistic anymore. Maybe earlier in the season. But we've dug ourselves a hole where even if we start playing better ball, we won't be able to afford a lapse of any kind. Lot of season left. Hoping for the best tonight, expecting the worst.

Early impression is that this is an amateur-ish interview. 17 mins in is where it starts to get a little more interesting. Just a softball interview to get talking points out there. Nothing I consider noteworthy.

As I've said, not expecting a win tonight at all... but... this does feel like the kind of game where they could surprise people. I think this team is what it is. Hopefully they can put together a run. So much season left, hope we can at least make things interesting...

I did forget he lost in the championship at one of his many recent stops. So a F4 and S16 v runner up and E8... neither screams Archie Miller to me. But I agree Dusty needs to show more before we go all in on him

Lord I would hope so. As Kentuckysucks pointed out Woody would need a pay day but that does not seem to be a barrier whatsoever the way buyouts are structured.

Thank you for this important context. Yet the same people who want XJ gone for getting chippy on the court and speeding want to hire a guy who chokes, bites, and badly beats his wife. Outrageous, truly.

You legitimately don't need ANY other reason than his history of domestic violence coupled with alcoholism. It's not about "legal proceedings jeopardizing his availability on the sideline" It's about the fact he could literally kill her next time. Not here. As our coach. Not everyone is as happy to quickly cast aside any concern about the abuse of women if it means winning basketball games. I'm done talking about Chris Beard because he's never gonna be the head coach here. Cry about it.

Stevens takes IU contract to Ainge, says he's thinking of taking it. Ainge makes ownership aware. Ownership decides to oust Ainge for Stevens based on this info when they flame out in 1st round of playoffs. Or, Chris who admittedly does not follow the NBA so closely, mistakenly assumed Stevens brought the offer to Ainge when Stevens could very well have gone through other channels. Yes you are acting omnipotent because you leave zero room for opposing view. You won't just agree to disagree. Instead you just do whatever it is that you think you do (shout repetitively into the void?), while most other people chuckle.

And you think these moves just happen over night? 3 months sounds like about the right timeline for something like this to happen. Losing early in the playoffs just seals the deal on what they already understood was an option for them. The timing of when things are made public do not = the timing of when conversations are had behind closed doors. Honestly its just funny how you come in disparaging someone who has been around here a lot longer than you and contributes way more to the board than you do, acting like you're some omnipotent being. It's entertaining really.

... and please tell us why Danny Ainge, highly regarded NBA executive and long-time presence in Celtics FO was suddenly "forced out" as you put it? Because the Celtics took Stevens over Ainge. Stevens had leverage. Where'd he get it from?
