  1. I did forget he lost in the championship at one of his many recent stops. So a F4 and S16 v runner up and E8... neither screams Archie Miller to me. But I agree Dusty needs to show more before we go all in on him
  2. If that scenario happened Dusty would have a F4 and a S16 under his belt compared to one E8 and runner up appearance from another "preferred" candidate
  3. Lord I would hope so. As Kentuckysucks pointed out Woody would need a pay day but that does not seem to be a barrier whatsoever the way buyouts are structured.
  4. ... I will pray for you
  5. No some people just react differently to beating women than hanging around a Taco Bell when you're no longer wanted there. Apparently you are quite happy not having a care in the world if next time Chris Beard drinks too much he murders his wife. I will pray for you buddy.
  6. Thank you for this important context. Yet the same people who want XJ gone for getting chippy on the court and speeding want to hire a guy who chokes, bites, and badly beats his wife. Outrageous, truly.
  7. You legitimately don't need ANY other reason than his history of domestic violence coupled with alcoholism. It's not about "legal proceedings jeopardizing his availability on the sideline" It's about the fact he could literally kill her next time. Not here. As our coach. Not everyone is as happy to quickly cast aside any concern about the abuse of women if it means winning basketball games. I'm done talking about Chris Beard because he's never gonna be the head coach here. Cry about it.
  8. You having fun reliving 2002 every day man?
  9. ...14-18 years ago? Creighton is ranked 18 and has been a consistent contender/high quality product for many many years now.
  10. Greg McDermott would be very interesting, do you think he'd leave Creighton if the price is right?
  11. Stevens takes IU contract to Ainge, says he's thinking of taking it. Ainge makes ownership aware. Ownership decides to oust Ainge for Stevens based on this info when they flame out in 1st round of playoffs. Or, Chris who admittedly does not follow the NBA so closely, mistakenly assumed Stevens brought the offer to Ainge when Stevens could very well have gone through other channels. Yes you are acting omnipotent because you leave zero room for opposing view. You won't just agree to disagree. Instead you just do whatever it is that you think you do (shout repetitively into the void?), while most other people chuckle.
  12. And you think these moves just happen over night? 3 months sounds like about the right timeline for something like this to happen. Losing early in the playoffs just seals the deal on what they already understood was an option for them. The timing of when things are made public do not = the timing of when conversations are had behind closed doors. Honestly its just funny how you come in disparaging someone who has been around here a lot longer than you and contributes way more to the board than you do, acting like you're some omnipotent being. It's entertaining really.
  13. Still waiting on your response bud
  14. Do you think they can move the tip off time from tomorrow to about noon? We need another game ASAP lol
  15. Scotty did you mean to post this on the other board?
  16. ... and please tell us why Danny Ainge, highly regarded NBA executive and long-time presence in Celtics FO was suddenly "forced out" as you put it? Because the Celtics took Stevens over Ainge. Stevens had leverage. Where'd he get it from?
  17. I'm not directing this at you or denying that we're starved for a winner and the admin has botched the past quarter century. There are still better head coaching candidates out there for IU than Chris Beard. Just because he is most obvious (to some) does not mean anyone who opposes him is complicit in IUBB's mediocrity. It's not "holier than thou" to maintain standards that include not harboring a domestic abuser as long as he wins basketball games. No, I won't blame the administration for people fiercely advocating for Chris Beard. They can own the fact that they don't care if he drunkenly beats a hundred women as long as they get to hang a banner for their favorite basketball team. We can win with other guys. He's no leader of men, especially young men. It's not about second chances... and he's already had plenty of opportunities. DV is rarely an isolated incident. It usually escalates. Can you imagine if, god forbid, the unthinkable happened ... in Bloomington? Is it "holier than thou" to want no part of such a scenario that is statistically a non-insignificant possibility? If that's holier than thou. So be it... the rest of us will pray for ya'll.
  18. Duke also not close. Duke's a big national brand but it's fanbase is mostly alumni (pretty small school) and casual/fair weather fans. Kansas I think also has a stake to claim. UK, KU, IU seem to be the most vocal about it online, anyway.
  19. This fanbase needs a W on Friday so badly lol. Let's not eat our own!
  20. You don't meet in person, in secret, to say "no" Think we can all agree no need to rehash this though
  21. He was being sarcastic bud
  22. We're in the same boat there brother! Think we're all searching for some reason to be optimistic at this point.
  23. No use crying over spilled milk. We're talking about something over a decade ago at this point. And no reason to believe that if Stevens had wound up here, he wouldn't have just left when the NBA came calling anyway. So at best he'd have probably gotten things rolling, reached a similar level of success at Butler (maybe 1 FF or championship game appearance) then left. OBVIOUSLY it would be great to have done that, but it's all fantasy, so why get upset wondering about the what ifs? It's a new situation in 2024. Lot of season left. Lot of time for circumstances to change. We'll see!
  24. When LeBron hangs it up, and all of the stars I grew up watching in all sports are officially retired, I will probably shed a tear or two lol. Side note, Carter Bryant is a 2024 signed to AZ. He knew May was on the staff at UNC but couldn't recall his name immediately. I'm sure he recognized his face as one of the many trying to recruit him, but goes to show how some recruitments just never get steam and there's no real relationship there, just old guys constantly hitting you up trying to convince you of something you don't want for yourself. Nowadays with the transfer portal and prevailing philosophy for many staffs being to set up pipeline/feeder schools (like MVA) rather than cast a nationwide-net every year, seems like relationships and "politics" are more important than ever in the bball landscape. Sorry for the unrelated tangent just had to distract myself from feeling like a dinosaur for a few mins
  25. I saw this video featuring a bunch of 2026 recruits that made me feel INCREDIBLY old so now you all have to see it too :) On an unrelated note, pretty funny/interesting to see how closely (or not closely) some of these recruits follow the game. A few of those guys like Kemba Walker played super recently. I guess goes to show how differently some kids approach/study/figure out their game... at the end of the day, some kids are just good at the sport! And that's okay... then there are others who really love it and are committed. They are just 16 so I'll stop being a grouchy old man, I'm sure they'll grow into being students of the game Class of 2026 Players Play "Guess Who" with 2000s/2010s CBB players
