Our last few B1G title teams have played small ball.

Yea no way you can ever win with "short guys" playing the 2. Jordy Hulls sucked. Tyson Walker sucks... Definitely should never have anyone under 6-4 at the 2. No way.

Eh. He had his times. Really wish Woody would have played him at the 4 along with TJD. I wouldn't even mind paying Galloway at the 4 for short stretches. Hell we won a B1G title playing Troy Williams and Colin Hartman at the 4.

The over helping is a scheme problem. Not an athleticism problem. Leal and guard another teams 2 and 3. He's probably strong enough to guard some teams 4s with how small college ball gets played at times(except by Indiana).

I'm going to assume Cupps is quick enough. FGCU had a very good and very quick point guard and he did just fine staying in front of him. No different than Aaron Craft. Active hands, quick feet, hustle and IQ.

So I guess we are going to judge him just off that one game? Makes sense. I mean it isn't like we played Parker Stewart and Miller Kopp at 2 and 3 or anything.

High IQ, ball doesn't stick in his hands, talks on D, hustles. I think he can shoot but we've never actually gotten to see him get in any sort of rhythm with playing time.

I just think the shakeup in the starting lineup is needed. Less dudes who need the ball in their hands to make an impact, a willing passer, and gives the bench scoring in Mgbako. Mgbako is just a 4. Plain and simple. He reminds me a bit of Watford. Not an explosive athlete but knows how to score. I think he just needs to be in the right spot. And playing the 4 next to Ware, Sparks or Reneau would be the absolute best for him. I am a Leal fan, but there isn't exactly another guy to start IMO. I don't want to start Cupps. His energy off the bench is way too needed. Leal is the only other guard with Newton being(and Rayford I guess) being injured. Does Leal have to play 30? No. But he can play 15-20 as a starter and gives more than enough time for Cupps, who is going to have to play A LOT this year. And I think Galloway is a much better 3 than 2.

And that's your opinion. You don't have to be hyper athletic to play basketball. That's just a fact. Some hustle and smarts can get guys a long way. I feel Leal would actually help. You don't. That's cool. I'd rather see Leal get minutes rather than Gunn looking like he's never played basketball before.

I HAVE A SOLUTION. And most won't like. This team offensively has a major problem getting the ball to swing around the perimeter, getting guys to move and getting guys to play with passion. Solution: Starters- X, Leal, Galloway, Reneau, Ware. Why Leal? There isn't a player on this team who is better at keeping the ball moving and himself moving than Leal. And he always plays with energy. Is he a great athlete? Nope. But he KNOWS basketball. And that's something this team desperately needs. Cupps, Mgbako, Sparks first 3 off the bench. Okay Mgbako at the 4 with Sparks or Ware. Let him be that stretch 4. I think he'd kill it. Cupps, like Leal, also the best at getting the ball moving. Definitely a better natural point than X is. He's a very very high IQ kid. Would Woody ever do it? Nope. Too damn stubborn and still stuck in 2005. But there are solutions outside of the box. ANTHONY LEAL. I rest my case.

Man... I wanted to see Newton and Rayford play and injuries ruined that.

Ware is clearly good. And with a TON of room to grow. Man the defense really needs to change. Whatever strategy they have is just stupid. Plain and simple. Woody needs to get it fixed or this season will be a massive failure.
