  1. I don't think the staff gives anyone the greenlight to shoot. Our entire team outside of Mgbako is scared to shoot if anyone is within 10 feet of them. I don't think any of them had the confidence to shoot it if they have any sort of space. It's been like that through Archie and Woody. Just watch games under Crean compared to the last 7 years. Watch us compared to other teams. It's how our guys are coached. Don't shoot it if someone is closing out. Shoot only if wide open. I don't think there is a team that passes up more open 3s or shot fakes on open 3s more than Indiana.
  2. And we lost to some bad teams when he didn't play. So what? We won. Winning > Losing.
  3. And that's your opinion. Yet the team clearly played better this past season when he played. Evident by being 5-0 when he played 20+. Those 5 games were Iowa, at Minnesota, at Ohio State, Michigan State and Penn State in the conference tourney. We were 6-10 in all other games that he played in but was under 20 minutes. Those wins were Harvard, North Alabama, Maryland, Kennesaw State, at Maryland and Wisconsin (played 17 minutes).
  4. I don't think you necessarily have to rely on Leal. But he's a dude that doesn't need the ball to be effective and he seemed to be about the only guy who understood what basketball was most of the year when he got to play big minutes. But those 5 games were also some of the best basketball the team played all year, all B1G games. So if this staff gives him the green light to fire away... I think he becomes a good piece to sit alongside a non shooter like Galloway(who should be playing the Troy Williams role as a playmaker off slashing and some 1v1) and a post piece like Reneau. Leal and Mgbako would be two 3pt threats. And I'd like to have a guy with Leals attitude and passion starting. I know no one else on the board sees it, but I believe we would be fine with Leal starting and playing 23 minutes. Especially if we are able to get any sort of productive transfers on the bench.
  5. 5-0 with Lesl playing 20+ this year. What up?
  6. Yea we as fans should totally trust the staff that said we shouldn't worry about Xs injury history. That we shouldn't totally trust in the improvements of CJ Gunn. So now let's trust in their assessment of Jakai Newton who is the combination of X/Gunn. It's genius really. Just blind faith for no reason at all.
  7. Need to find a starting and backup point guard. Me personally... PG- Transfer SG- Leal SF- Gallo PF- Mgbako C- Reneau Backup PG Essegian Backup wing Backup F/C I don't want to hear anything Newton. I'm not trusting that. Woody shouldn't be stupid enough to trust that, but clearly he was with X sooo...
  8. I wouldn't mind bringing Essegian and Leal off the bench(obviously I want to start Leal but that isn't going to happen). But he's a kid with 2 years remaining.
  9. Getting good talent will be tough. Sure we have money... But so does everyone else. Woody is also seen as a coach whose job is hanging on by a thread, and a tearing thread at that. Easy to recruit against, especially with guards. I'd be surprised if we got an elite guard transfer. 100% guarantee we won't get the 2-3 we NEED. And I don't want to hear any crap from anyone about how Galloway, Cupps and 1 more guard are enough. That was the dumbest idea fromast summer/fall imaginable.
  10. Connor Essegian should already bring gone after. He'd be a great one to take a chance on.
  11. I'd want him to retire in his post game presser.
  12. I wish we could get him on the bench somewhere. He'd make a hell of an offensive minded assistant. And looking at the assistants we have now... Well just about anything is an upgrade it seems. Especially developmentally.
  13. Love seeing Northwestern get whooped.
  14. Well you could. But when you're coached to not get out and run, you won't.
  15. We sucked at defense this year and actually had a rim protector. So what's it matter? Dive full in on having an elite fast paced offense. Just like Crean did in 14-15. Hell it got us a 10 seed. We are looking at missing the NIT again next year.
  16. Needs a point guard. Hoggard is probably in his bottom 3 of starting points guards.
  17. Almost like they added the biggest Dbag in college basketball.
  18. They'd be insanely stupid to move on unless they have Beard, Lloyd or Wright coming out of retirement.
  19. Same. Absolutely love it. Also helps that I've been a fan of James Madison all year. Had them ranked for a good chunk of the beginning of the season and put them back in the Top 25 going into the tourney. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the most popular 12 over 5 pick in brackets.
  20. It was Archie last season... So that is actually possible lol.
  21. Mountain West showing up in normal tourney form.
  22. I think we actually went on some runs when he was here. I remember our best lineups at times including Lander, Leal, Galloway and TJD.

  24. Lander returning to Indiana. Why not? LOL.
