Yeah, when it was announced I figured the number would be something like 8yr/48M total with a $12M buyout. A 5 year 25M contract seems rather noncommittal by UM.

How are they scrambling? Do people actually expect every coaches agent Dolson reaches out to to immediately announce IU is interested in my client? Some coaches may be more private. Some coaches may think it would adversely affect their recruiting Some agents may want to maintain a good reputation of confidentiality among AD's for other clients. There is almost a month or more before any coach IU would be interested in will be available. The angst on here is comical

They added 1 year and like $1.5M to May's already low buyout. He may be content in Ann Arbor but nothing about that extension would change IU's interest in May
