If you want the most similar comps of successful college guys to go to the NBA and back to college that would be Kelvin Sampson, John Calapari, Larry Brown, Rick Pitino, and Fred Hoiberg, Lon Kruger, Mike Montgomery. Every single one of them came back and had as much or greater success than historically typical at their university. Oh and of those coaches, none were remotely as successful at the NBA level as Stevens. So either you were trolling or wholly unaware of how college to NBA and back to college coaches have fared.
