I really wish I could find the post of all the awesome players that came out of the portal that were ranked waaaay below the players we got last year. As long as our coach can scout, we shouldn’t worry about the rankings.

I would rather roll the dice and try to get a coach that doesn’t suck. It is called a meritocracy, I would much rather have that culture than one of accepting mediocrity.

Wrong! The fans didn’t run any coaches off this team, the AD did. Please tell me which one of our previous coaches shouldn’t have been fired when they were?

I am rather pessimistic after the never ending clown orgies I have witnessed the last 25 years. That said, How did it turn out when we threw bags of cash at last year’s portal transfers? We need to stop focusing on the money and the rankings and bring the right guys in. We have seen how the right culture can turn a program around. For all we know, coach DDV has targeted a bunch of guys that we haven’t heard of that have the right attitude and can win. Someone posted a list of the awesome players that emerged this year that had terrible rankings in last year’s portal. Let’s give our coach the benefit of the doubt and wait until January before we start the next “coaching search” thread.

This seems like a major hint. Why would an NBA insider be breaking the news of IU’s basketball coach unless it was an NBA guy?

They couldn’t fine IU for having players in the portal. The only leverage Fox has is the TV rights contract they signed with the Big Ten and the other conferences they are holding hostage. I highly doubt there is a failure to perform grenade in the contract that would invalidate everything, but I wouldn’t be shocked if there was some sort of liquidated/compensatory damages clause which specifies how much has to be paid for not attending the “Crown” tournament.
