I don't know about his ties with high school/AAU but I think as far as another X and O guy, you couldn't go wrong with Tonagel. I think he has a bright future and some successful time in the Indiana program would be a great lauching point to a D1 gig for him. If you aren't familiar with him, dude has impressive numbers as a coach with Ind. Wes. and played college ball at Valpo I believe.

I am married and a dad and that is very insightful. I, like many fans, sometimes forget that part of the job and how these people are affected.

Good morning Hoosier basketball junkies! Just woke up, fed/watered the animals, poured some java and here I am; totally excited about the present and future of IU hoops. Who knows if this high risk/ high reward situation will work out and maybe he wasn't the first choice; but damn- when you have a solid X and O guy that preaches D; how do you, as an IU fan, not get excited or at least have a "cautious optimism?" Me? I'm gonna drink the Cream and Crimson kool aid. I just think his mentality; seen in his players on the court, pedigree and fire will pay dividends in getting this program to where we want it. So although it's rainy here in K-town, I for one am seeing the sunshine return to our beloved hoops. Hey HoosierNation- It's ****in Miller time!

I saw where our new coach is on twitter asking people to send tweets as he is heading back to Dayton right now. He thanked this site for the "new shirts". I don't have twitter, but if you do or know someone who does, please tell him not to show the shirt at his presser ala "Crean and Crimson"...

I believe at dinner tonight, this will be my beverage of choice... Just heard Katz on ESPN radio- liked Archie hire, again bashing the fan base saying our expectations are too high- we should be happy with a Sweet 16 run and MAYBE an Elite 8 now and then.. From a national standpoint, I guess it has been awhile; but I'm glad we aren't Kentucky or NC- who cheat their @$$ off and we all know it. I think it's a high risk/reward hire; but he IS a better X and O coach, young, will have fire in the belly and was able to do more with less, Dayton fans pissed-which is always a good sign. Would love to know what consensus is among state/AAU coaches of him. I for one am happy! It's Miller time!
