  1. My picks Wednesday #12 Minnesota over #13 Northwestern #11 Indiana over #14 Nebraska Thursday #9 Michigan over #8 Rutgers #5 Iowa over #12 Minnesota #7 Ohio State over #10 Purdue #11 Indiana over #6 Penn State Friday #1 Wisconsin over #9 Michigan #5 Iowa over #4 Illinois #2 Michigan State over #7 Ohio State #3 Maryland over #11 Indiana Saturday #1 Wisconsin over #5 Iowa #2 Michigan State over #3 Maryland Sunday #2 Michigan State over #1 Wisconsin
  2. Really? Wow, would have thought he'd be at least a second round pick. Iowa will be tough next year.
  3. True about Jerome. I still really like him.
  4. Yup. I hope this year is the new "down year" for IU. IU is only losing two guys for next year. No excuse they can't finish around the top 5 of the Big Ten. I think Lander is coming (80% sure) and I also think Leal will really help. Geronimo and Galloway may not play as much right away. Think Armaan type of role for them. Trayce has the potential to be the Big Ten POY. I think Rob will have a great Junior/Senior year at IU. Hopefully Justin and Al are more consistent.
  5. If I lived closer to Indy I would.. I went in 2016 on Friday. It was Michigan-IU (you know, the game where Indiana missed their free throws and Michigan came back and won at the buzzer). It was pretty cool. We left at halftime of the second game. Was pretty ticked from the IU game.
  6. If Aaron Henry ended up at IU, this program would be in much better shape. I think he is the kind of guy this team is missing. He is already appearing in mock drafts too. If he sticks around another year, he's going to be the guy at Michigan State. A sleeper pick for Big Ten POY in 2021.
  7. I said this a few weeks ago, but 2013 was the year...IU, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin were all loaded. I had IU winning it all that year, Ohio State in the final four, with Michigan and Wisconsin in the Elite 8. As far as this year, I really like the way Michigan State and Wisconsin are playing. I don't trust Turgeon but Maryland is talented. Ohio State is playing really well especially without DJ. Illinois, Penn State, and Iowa are all intriguing. Michigan is my wild card team. If Beilein was still the coach I would trust them a lot more than I would with Howard. As for our Hoosiers, I would be stunned if they aren't in the tournament. With that being said, I would be even more shocked if they win a game in the tournament. I still think they are a few guys/a year away from being a big dog in the Big Ten.
  8. I have a feeling a Big Ten team is winning the tournament this year. So many teams that are capable.
  9. Yes. Khristian Lander alone isn't going to cut it. I like the other freshman but they aren't ready to be major contributers. This offseason has to be like the 2011 one (I've said that the last two years thought.) The addition of Zeller to that team helped but Hulls, Jones, Watford, Oladipo, and Sheehey got so much better.
  10. If anything Devonte and De'Ron played well today. Wasn't on them.
  11. Shouldn't have lost to Arkansas either. Just awful.
  12. Holy crap that was bad. 1) You CANNOT win a basketball game by going 9 minutes without making a field goal. That's on the players and coaches. That cannot happen. 2) IU was in the double bonus down the stretch. Didn't take advantage of it. They just kept throwing crap up expecting it to go in. 3) Potter had four fouls down the stretch too. IU didn't attack him either. Just awful. On senior day. This team reminds me of the 2014-2015 team. They'll probably get in but don't deserve to. They aren't going anywhere in March. Archie has to make some serious upgrades to this roster. I hope Lander, Leal, Galloway, and Geronimo can help.
  13. My Top 10 heading into the final week. I always like doing this at the end of the year just to see where teams are at. 1. Kansas 2. Gonzaga 3. Baylor 4. Dayton 5. San Diego State 6. Kentucky- Quickley is playing out of his mind right now. 7. Florida State 8. Seton Hall- Great week for them 9. Oregon 10. Louisville I thought Michigan State had the best week of any teams. Two huge wins.
  14. Same here as long as you aren't going out of your way. I'll never forget that morning. Was really embarassing.
  15. He told News 25 in Evansville that on Tuesday "something happened" and he felt the need to commit. I think that something was he was given the clear to graduate early assuming he passes his classes. I'll say it again, this kid is going to be very good but everyone needs to be careful with expectations in year one. He is going to help for sure. But I don't think he will be All-Big Ten good year one. Also, when he gets on campus is going to determine a lot. June and July are huge months for freshman.
  16. I hope. I am careful with my expectations on Khristian. I said yesterday he feels like a 10 3 and 3 guy his first year. Don't get me wrong, I'm from Evansville and I am pumped that this kid is going to be a Hoosier. I just think this team needs more. IU needs someone on this team to improve like Eli Brooks did this past year. He went from barely playing to becoming a key starter.
  17. I said the same thing on another thread. His patience is wearing thin with this group. I don't blame him. Everyone thought the season was headed in the right direction and then you lose two in a row (on the road in tough places mind you.) Get two wins in Assembly Hall and you're in the tournament.
  18. Barf... I could not stand the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 teams. I actually like this group better on and off the court.
  19. He has only two classes to take. Assuming that goes well, he will be in Bloomington next year. And will most likely start, even at 18 years age.
  20. Tough loss and it sucks. However, I will take the effort from this team. A few takeaways: 1) I'm confused on the Phinisee hate. He has exceeded my expectations in two years. I didn't think he would even start until his junior year. Remember, this kid was not a top 100 recruit. By that logic those kids usually don't start their first two years. Is he where we want him to be yet? No, but I think he will be a very good player his junior and senior years. 2) Cockburn outplayed TJD when it mattered. That kid is good. Nothing against TJD, but Cockburn might be your Big Ten FOY after today. 3) Thought Al, Devonte, and Justin played well today. If at least two of those three play well IU should compete. 4) I can tell Archie's patience is wearing thin-as it should be. We went from winning 3/4 to losing 3/5. 5) Win these next two at Assembly Hall and you are in. 6) Officials need to be held accountable. That was awful today. Really, it was bad on both ends. Really sad stat....after today IU can best finish 500 in the Big Ten. First time since 1931-1934 that Indiana has had four straight seasons of being 500 or under in Big Ten Play...woof. That has to change guys.
  21. Maryland has the talent, but I can't trust Turgeon.
  22. For me, I'd say Kansas, Gonzaga, Florida State, and Kentucky are my top 4 right now. Michigan and Villanova could be in the mix as "sleepers". I wouldn't rule out Michigan State. They have an elite point guard. I can see Winston going on a Shabazz or Kemba like run in March. It is so wide open it's crazy.
  23. Just curious...who does everybody like for the tournament this year? It is so wide open. I think it'll be like 2014 where a team like UConn wins the whole thing.
  24. I have to think he's coming in 2020. That really is not a lot. He also had to have started the process already too. If he didn't, he would have more classes to take.
  25. Bingo. I think this kid understands he is a two year player-at least. And someone like Kaufman is going to want to play with him. He made his big men look much better last night in that game.
