    At the end of the day, our staff is gonna hafta come with more pitch than just, "stay and be a hometown hero" to many of these top recruits. That's not enough anymore. Thats obvious. We've gotta find more to bring to the table. Sure that pitch will find it's way into a few hearts of kids here and there but as things evolve and times change, that pitch has struggled.

    I like this as it is along the lines of my thinking as well. On a good note, given where we have been and are currently, a legitimate RUN every 4 yrs is good with me as long as we continue to make the tourney leading up to that and stay competitive.

    Can only hope he is yet another recruit we don't expect to impact right away that ends up standing out. Seems that is becoming the norm for us.

    I can't say that I disagree. We'd all LOVE to have him at IU but every time I see him comment on our recruiting approach of "home town hero" he looks about as disinterested as one could be. Just holding onto the hope this coaching staff is what I think they are....winners.

    Man, I gotta give them credit since I give them enough crap, they did good tonight. Proud of them. Same effort level all game. Thats how it has to be.

    That is kind of a HUGE part of coaching. If u r a coach with a very specific style, part of ur tactics and game plan involves having kids that fit the style and can pyhisically do what is needed. Hence Jimmy poo at Syracuse. U don't see him recruiting short wings for his specific zone. U gotta have the right pieces. Period.

    I'll say it again, if one of the other big time gigs were to have gotten Archie, he'd be making us all go, "damn that guy can coach!" He WILL do the same here. It really is as simple as personnel right now. Yep, as simple as that.

    I agree with u, I really do. I just worry that Glass questions Archie when he starts that. But I do agree. If u don't wanna play...move on.
