I'm excited about this Gelon news for a few reasons: -Gelon can go and actually play somewhere -It frees up a scholarship that was essentially being used on a walk-on quality player -Our first glimpse at how CAM will approach these "extra" scholarships. We will be able to see if he will get offer happy like Crean used to do. I'm hoping CAM does his due diligence and doesn't force an offer because there's an opening. Here's my two cents on this subject: 1) it's his life and his dreams. Shame on anyone who is trying to put this kid down for your own selfish fandom. 2) the NBA isn't the only league where you can make a good living playing basketball. (Bracey Wright makes $600k in Turkey...raise your hand if you make $600k at your dream job) 3) If he does go to the Gatorade League I think he will be fine. The NBA is recognizing how crummy those players are treated and most of the USA talent goes overseas instead of playing in their developmental league. 4) I think he has a good shot at a bench job in the NBA.
