(2024) - PG Boogie Fland to Kentucky

No one including me has any clue what Liam was 'expecting'. I am just using logic based on what has been happening all fall. -

Don't feel bad for a 5* kid who made a choice where he KNEW he might be alone for now. McNeely is not backing out. I swear every bit of bad news IU gets leads to our fans thinking program is doomed and every bit of good news will lead to banner 6. The truth lies in between. Things are never as good or as bad as they seem in the moment and everyone for good reason is acting emotionally right now. -

There is zero chance McNeely backs out. Everyone nationally has been saying all along IU would win the McNeely recruitment and lose the others. McNeely knew he might be going at this alone and that has been a real possibility based on everyone's sentiment. McNeely may have committed HOPING to bag the other two but he knew it was possible he might be only one. Don't let losing out on Boogie give you that irrational thought. -

One very good player. It is a start for the spring which is where Woody lives and first time he has landed an elite prospect prior to that so in that sense he is ahead of where he has ever been. -

I would disagree. Beating Self for McNeely was no small task. It may have been less successful then hoped, but any fall that brings in a 5* recruit is a win to some extent. Fall 2023 was indeed not great. Fall 2024 was mild success but not the major success everyone hoped. -

They may have been hopeful but wind has been blowing UK's way since Monday as their writers were saying and Kent Sterling and Andy Sweeney got a hold of. No way he promised IU earlier today or this week and flipped tonight. IU side was just in dark or had bad info until tonight. -

Something changed Monday and IU guys weren't clued in. It was obvious from UK side they knew wind was blowing in their direction then which Kent Sterling and Andy Sweeney got a hold of on Kentucky end. It appears IU guys were left in dark until tonight and somehow Trilly was not clued in until now either. Sterling is always Mr. Positive for IU despite his quirkiness and overbearing love for Dakich. When he said UK I had a feeling it would go their way despite others telling me the opposite. This program wasn't living or dying with this recruitment. I have a feeling Woodson will kill it in spring with late recruitments and portal players as he always does and this time he gets to do it with an elite recruit in hand with McNeely. When he nabbed Ware and Mgbako last spring he had no great recruits already and in spring 2024 he will already have one in fold. -

I would be shocked if Liam has any second thoughts. He knew all along there were no guarantees and has leaned Indiana for months. All the experts have said IU would win Liam recruitment and lose the others. I am sure Liam would have loved more to come with him but was perfectly happy to come on his own or he would not have committed. -
Correct you would have to pay the $9.95 a month or whatever is it to get the ability to message other verified users. Basically Elon is making it as tough as possible if you don't pay him the monthly fee which was his plan all along unfortunately.
-
"Verified" on X now means you paid for a subscription. It has nothing to do anymore with verifying the person being who they say they are. Obviously that is not an issue with Talia:). However, unless the checkmarks are yellow or gray for certain top organizations or government accounts respectively, they mean nothing. "Verified" now means paid money. The blue check should called 'subscriber' now with the way Elon changed its use. It really means nothing other than monetarily. The yellow and gray ones are the only marks that matter now.

I got notification of the 4-game pack for the south court for OSU and the cupcakes being fulfilled. Didn't get a seat assigned yet but anywhere they give you behind the basket is a good seat:) Those four game packs are being sold separately from the 6-game pack because the South Court is being used as a small student section for Kansas and MSU. The four game one is selling the south court since no student tickets are being distributed for those. These are the best deal for $232 with OSU in it for prime seats behind the basket. Am out of town for Kansas and MSU so no reason to go for full pack for worse seats.

FYI I have no idea if this is accurate but Kent Sterling said on his afternoon YouTube video that he has a source saying Boogie is going elsewhere towards the end of him talking: No idea how accurate this is but definitely the first I have heard that this is going against IU. -
Colts go to Germany to play Pats and then have a bye at the four week mark. My guess is he misses five games and we see him the week after Thanksgiving against the Bucs which would give him a full seven weeks to heal and Colts will be extra cautious.

Jonathan Taylor would make a great politician or dodgeball player with the way he avoided questions from the media today;). Either way sounds like he is ready to play for the Colts now which is bottom line.

IU Men's Soccer News and Notes
Aaron replied to ccgeneral's topic in Other Indiana Hoosiers Athletics
Also this match ending in a tie was kind of symbolic of the IU-UK basketball series being renewed. Both teams got something but not exactly what they wanted. UK claims they didn't want to play the series at all so they gave the ability for it to happen period and IU had to take one less home game. Just like the draw tonight everyone got something but less than they wanted which is story of the season for two normally elite soccer programs. -

Two identical teams with all the talent in the world who don't make great decisions and always keep composure with the final pass and when its time to finish in the net. IU did dominate the second half and got a bit unlucky but also until they get a bona fide scorer on this roster this is what you get. The lack of development of Luka Bezerra as the expected go-to scorer is not Yeagley's fault at all but's it tanked the season. Gonna need to win the Big Ten Tourney to keep 37 year NCAA streak alive just like 2013. If history is any indication this will be solved in 2024 with an elite scorer but the fix isn't on roster now. -
GA only available for main level above Row 32, on court, and balcony. All roughly 7,000 reserved seats in first 32 rows of main level are gone via season tickets. Not sure how many of the 10,000+ GA tickets available were sold in season package. Bottom line though is numbers this year for attendance will be huge and top last year with every game starting with a base of at least 7,000 since they always go by tickets distributed.

Most definitely agree. IU not really appearing on Peacock for football is because it will not move needle for subscriptions. Only the teams that will drive subscriptions get a lot of Peacock games of course.

For everyone who thought BTN+ was going away I knew there was no chance, Now we just need Peacock and BTN+ for games. At least Peacock will get money's worth for 4 months and $24 but this was price of getting this really high $$$ TV deal and excluding ESPN and adding NBC instead. NBC not having any sports channel outside their regular network like FS1, BTN or multiple ABC/ESPN channels makes streaming necessary for many games.

For everyone who thought BTN+ was going away I knew there was no chance, Now we just need Peacock and BTN+ for games. Also, the reason so many women's games on Peacock is that with ESPN gone, BTN has had to pick up a number of more men's games comparted to past relegating women to streaming even more. At least Peacock will get money's worth for 4 months and $24 but this was price of getting this really high $$$ TV deal and excluding ESPN and adding NBC instead. Apparently athletic department disagrees and wants to play UK bad enough to take a lesser deal similar Gonzaga.
-
Depends how bad you want series back. Some fans would walk over broken glass to get this series back even with this arrangement and are thrilled. If Cal was unwilling to budge from this current demand, I would have asked for 75-25 ticket split at Lucas Oil and 75-25 split at second Rupp game instead of 100-0 at Lucas Oil but I am not in charge. Also remember Gonzaga agreed to similar arrangement so IU is not alone.
-
IU will have 100% control of tickets at Lucas Oil and will make it a home atmosphere. I assume IU will offer to season ticket holders first and have a student section. However, when other 15k go on sale (I assume they will do midcourt set up with half attendance) to everyone + secondary market will be 30-40% UK fans. Basically the equivalent of an IU game vs. OSU in Bloomington. IU can spin it that they did it this way so more IU fans can go. However, reality is this is only way Cal would agree to series and IU will do anything to get it back and can't say I disagree.
-
The price of doing business with UK I guess. Have to give them two home games to get one. Tells me IU wanted the series back badly enough to get shafted a bit and they may not be wrong if this was only way to do it.

Also, for everyone who thought cord cutting would save money think again. With all the streaming services now, Internet + online cable+ streaming is almost $200 which was price of traditional cable. No surprise that media conglomerates have figured out a way to one-up the consumer trying to save money. Reality is corporate America will always find way to make their $$$ no matter how much people try to save. Not a bad thing per se but the truth of capitalistic economy.
