Pitino serves out his suspension next season and that will clear the way for Donovan the year after. This will also allow Donovan to see what Westbrook's intentions are. Young Pitino is NOT an option for quite a while. Louisville fanbase would not allow this. They have already lived through one Pitino soiling their image. Jurich is very loyal and has stuck with Rick, but will look elsewhere for a replacement. Like it or not, Rick Pitino is the wild card in all of this. Pitino and Donovan very close. It was always thought that Donovan would be his replacement at Louisville. It was thought for a few years that Pitino was ready to retire. Now with the NCAA report coming out saying Pitino was indeed responsible for overseeing every aspect of the recruiting scandal, it is HIGHLY LIKELY that Pitino will receive a substantial suspension and possibly a revocation of their last championship. This could push Pitino to a retirement thus moving Donovan into position to take over the coaching job there. I will tell you this...if it is between us and UofL, we will not come out on top. If you are speaking of my post referring to Insider, my apologies sir. I didn't join this forum last week. I, along with you have weeded thru the 400+ speculative, rumored and somewhat just plain ignorant posts of individuals claiming some inkling of knowledge on this hire. I was only making jest of some of those claims from that forum that found its way to this site. We are all excited about what this week has brought to our fanbase. A little humor (in good taste) goes a long way to lighten the mood. I would go on to surmise that 99% of the insider info is no better than a weatherman' rain forcast. Guestimations at best. Agree. Look Pitino and Calapari both had a taste and it didn't suit them. Of course didn't have star laden teams. BD thought that he was walking in to a great deal with both KD and Westbrook. Bet your rear that Westbrook will bolt to LA. Too much money and glitz in that market. Also big difference between NBA and college. Some guys love to teach. Some love to manage. I think you are so wrong about Glass. From the news conference yesterday he seemed that this separation has been in the works for a while. I don't think he will screw up this hire. Mile and Btowninsider were right all along of the firing and timing of it. Mile stated that he first heard of a possible "divorce" between FCTC and IU on Feb 3rd.
