So in two of the three games we 'played like crap', we won.
-
PSU ends up pulling it out. Didn't look real good. Curtis Jones (yes, THAT Curtis Jones who played for IU) had 18 points in probably the best game in his (long) career. Hit 6 of 11 from the field and 3 of 6 from three. Even doing that, he's still only shooting 40% for the year and 34% from three. Shooting about 35% and 33% from three over his season and a half at IU, season at Oklahoma State, and half season at Penn State.

I'd go with this one. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/game?gameId=280540077 We were 22-4 entering the game.....but with Sampscum at the helm and deep in investigation, he gets bought out. We came very close to a full team mutiny and weren't even sure what players were going to go to Northwestern. We end up going and play a completely disinterested game against a Northwestern team that was 0-13 in conference play. I'd call that loss worse because it was an ultra talented squad of players who just weren't very likable. I really don't dislike the players we have as individuals now. But that 2007-8 team.... but there quite a few individuals on that team that I would have rather lost games without than won with.

Very good athlete. Best thing about him is probably his body control.
-
Always seems at the Classic that the shooting background makes for low three point percentages. Might actually be a positive for us since that is such a small part of our game.
-
I've considered Will Sheehey to be a decent comp for Galloway.
-
In the end, I'd much rather be correcting things after a win than a loss. We are going to lose some games in the Big Ten that you wouldn't expect us to and we are going to win some games you wouldn't have expected us to. Tonight wasn't the unexpected loss we could have had.

Jerry Meyer lists comps of some recruits. He gives Dakota Mathis as a comp for Anthony Leal and Andrew White III as a comp for Jordan Geronimo; no comp listed for Galloway. Both were solid college players but they both took a couple of years before they were solid impact guys. Leal is definitely the best shooter of the three. Galloway is a hard nosed, athletic kid but perimeter shooting is not his forte. But in other areas Leal is probably behind Galloway and Geronimo. Likely we will need to see guys on our roster start hitting shots not only the rest of this year but next.

Side note -- 8 Big Ten teams have played two conference games; every one of them is 1-1.

Not sure TJD is surrounded by any better shooters. I do think TJD presents himself better to guards than Vonleh did which is why he is scoring more. A lot got blamed on our guards not getting the ball to Vonleh -- and they didn't -- but I think he didn't help out that much in flashing, either.

Nebraska is ranked 149 on KenPom. They aren't good, but saying that have a collection of scrubs that couldn't make most D1 rosters is beyond hyperbolic. Also guess I'm not sure what "150 pound walk on" driving for lay-ups you are talking about since they don't list anyone under 190 pounds and all of their points were scored by scholarship players.
-
Got to give TJD his props....he certainly is a man. Think back to the two players of most similar incoming pedigree to him --- Noah Vonleh and Thomas Bryant. Have to say that TJD is better than either of them were as freshman.

We're so bad from three we can't even calculate our three point percentage correctly. :)

I was just following what others had posted here....thought they had said Green was injured.
-
DIdn't say. Hell, the announcers didn't even mention it.
-
FWIW, Green played just 14 1/2 minutes before he got injured tonight. When he was on the floor, IU was +17 in points. Regardless of your feelings about his up and down play, he's the guy who does force defenses to guard the perimeter more which in turn clears up our posts more.
-
Hopefully nothing too serious for either. 8 days between games should help.
-
That isn't what he said.
-
A minnow of win is better than a whale of a loss.
-
Jesus Christ.....do these refs call travels?

Franklin is playing like ****.
