  1. My God, these refs are inconsistent. Now we are getting every call.
  2. What's BS is that if the refs called it when it happened, they didn't steal a possession.
  3. Such a flagrant foul that no foul was called and the refs never mentioned it.
  4. Just not sure how the team chucking up threes has 3 fouls to our 7.
  5. These refs are RIDICULOUS
  6. So glad they instituted a flop rule.
  7. Hate when refs don't reward good rebounding position. Was Davis supposed to just allow the player to go over his back?
  8. They called the foul on TJD's dunk, but it was one of those 'wait to see if he makes it or not' calls where they delay until they see the result. HATE those. He was fouled, call it right away.
  9. Only guys who wanted to be there were Hartford players.
  10. Not sure how you could come away from that game thinking anything other than both are over ranked.
  11. How about we play against the best coach we’ve had between Knight and Miller? Think Detroit would be up for it?
  12. I don’t think it will ever happen, but I would be fine if the conference were to forego the Big Ten/ACC challenge and go with the PAC 12 or SEC. There aren’t natural rivalries with the ACC and I’d prefer new opponents.
  13. Wisky wins by 20. Big Ten has been killing it this year.
  14. Maybe, maybe not. Durant went to Golden State where the state tax rate is over 13%.
  15. Haarms probably had a pretty low starting threshold to pass.
  16. Not sure how that is an extreme example. You can find those in multiple venues. California has the highest tax rate by far...I wouldn't say the state of California is lacking in NBA titles. In the last ten years, four NBA champions have come from Texas and Florida combined. Five have come from California. I certainly understand your point and agree that the NBA should address it. I just think that it is a big of factor for the top players as is the ability to make endorsements. You don't exactly see players flocking to play in Orlando whose tax rate is the same as Miami.
  17. With the amount of money on the table in endorsement deals, I wouldn't say that anything done at the team salary level would do much. Klay Thompson being third fiddle during Golden State's run gave him a lot more in endorsements than he would have gotten being first fiddle in Sacremento.
  18. Those numbers -- 11 different NBA teams, 16 different NFL teams, 20 different MLB teams -- IMO are in no small part reflective of how much a single player can influence the outcomes of those games. I don't disagree about the phantom calls in the playoffs, but If we go back to the 1960s before free agency, it was much worse -- Celtics winning 11 of 13 at one point. The one great aberration was the Spurs run where the Spurs winning multiple titles really wasn't what was 'good for business'..... Believe me, I'm not trying to defend the NBA game.......it's not a product I particularly find entertaining to watch.
  19. Not sure how what has happened lately demonstrates seeing the same things every year. Toronto won the title last year. The twelve teams right now that have the best records in the NBA are Milwaukee, LA Lakers, Boston, Miami, Denver, LA Clippers, Houston, Toronto, Philly, Dallas, Indiana, and Utah. Seems like a pretty mixed bag of big market and small market.
  20. I was shocked how much they were letting players get away with in the Houston/Georgia Tech game.
  21. Georgia ended up escaping after trailing to Georgia Southern 32-29 at half. Looks like Crean still has problems with zones.....the Bulldogs were 4 of 22 from three trying to shot over it.
  22. What I like is that the non-con ended up UConn, Notre Dame, and Arkansas....two on neutral courts.
  23. I guess I don't get the lack of votes for IU in the rankings. Louisville non-conference SOS is 314 on KenPom; UK is 311. IU is 274. Not saying that IU should be ahead of them by any means. But IU has the same record as Louisville despite a stronger schedule and Louisville is top 5. UK has three losses including a home loss to a team ranked #202 on Pom.
  24. Starting a separate thread to get it away from the Notre Dame game thread. IMO, IU should wait until Cal leaves before we look to get back in the series.....no need to let him dictate the terms a series that he isn't going to be around for. There is some dissatisfaction there -- I think UK fans were mentally counted the number of championships in their heads when he first came on board and now after ten years they've had one and one final four in the last eight years. That's certainly good by any measure, but UK is still a blue blood and their fans aren't happy about having a top one or two class every year and not seeing those kind of results. Cal isn't in danger of getting fired, but he's a guy who has always left before the **** was about to hit. And I think his narrative is that he still wants another crack at the one place he failed -- the NBA. Anyone, a UK/IU series to me doesn't draw the same interest to me with UK's continual year in and year out shuffling of players who turn pro after a year.......it's hard to get good storylines when the faces change every year.
