  1. I wonder if DeVries will take a look at Ristic's U-20 Serbian team mate 6'7" forward Pavle Nikolic. Jon Chepakevich (director of scouting for Draft Express.com said that Nikolic looked like a high major talent in Serbia's win over France (he put up 21 and 10 and is averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds in this year's FIBA tournament; last year at age 18 he played in the FIBA tournament for Serbia's U20 team and averaged 10.4 points and 4.7 rebounds).
  2. I would agree that it fits with what they have done EXCEPT the exception they made for Justice Ajogbor who played all of his games between February 4th and March 5th. Can't be just a minutes played thing because Leal was denied in a season where he played fewer minutes than Ajogbor. I completely understand Goode and Leal being denied because they fit the NCAA rules of being denied. But what doesn't make sense is that Ajogbor ALSO fit the model for denial in the same manner that Goode did. To my knowledge Ajoghor is the only basketball player to ever receiver a waiver for a year in which he played in the second half of the season....why is that the case?
  3. So did Justice. He didn't play his first game until February.
  4. If someone can make logic out of how Justice Ajobor was given eligibility and Goode wasn't, I'm all ears. Both played four years, both had one season where the only games they played were in the second half of the season. While Goode played 10 games, two of those games were not on the regular season schedule (one was in the BTT and was in the NCAAT), so both played under 30% of the games of the season.
  5. At the same time, Ristic is a very key player on a U-20 team in a basketball crazed nation the size of Indiana.
  6. 1. Ballo 2. Rourke 3. Garzon 4. Cig 5. Ponds 6. Schwarber 7. IUFB makes playoffs 8. Lee Corso
  7. After three years of having a Temu coach, we expect more.
  8. Goode applied for a waiver in March. It’s now July. Ridiculous that the NCAA has not given a decision.
  9. Question: Will Purdue win a BT game?
  10. His case was very weak. Goode’s is stronger but still not under the letter of the law.
  11. IMO: get rid of the 16 seed play ins — give everyone conference a bid without a play in. This would make all play ins being at large games.
  12. I swear some people will never be happy with a schedule that doesn’t feature 11 games against Kentucky.
  13. I don’t think Leal was under the threshold anyway as he played 11 games. Goode on the other hand played two games but two of those games weren’t regular season games - one was in the big TT and the other was in the ncaa tourney.
  14. IMO: teams we play only on the road are better than the teams we play only at home. Our double plays are two top teams and one bottom team.
  15. Dallas James return, anyone? anyone?
  16. Goode and Leal say hi. Neither has been given anything but silence so far. Zero chance that hatton is getting another year.
  17. Here's a Peter Gabriel cover that doesn't blow, although it songs COMPLETELY different than the original. It's a live version of "Shock the Monkey' covered by Local H, although just the drummer and guitar/singer.
  18. Liam McNeely didn’t go until the end of the first round. I would be shocked if Mullins is top 20 after his freshman year.
  19. Fran has never had a defense ranked as high DeVries had last year....and that really wasn't a very talented West Virginia team. Hansberry and Harris couldn't get on the court at Illinois and they both played major roles at WV.
  20. IMO the most hidden gem could turn out to be Harris. 13.4 points and 7.1 rebounds for a freshman playing just 22.5 minutes/game -- regardless of it being a low D1 -- is outstanding. Throw in that he showed a little bit of range and didn't turn the ball over and is a nice athlete. Food for thought: Harris had the highest points scored per minute played of ANYBODY that transferred in to IU -- more than DeVries, Bailey, Wilkerson, Dorn, and Miles.
  21. NCAA may decide his fate by the summer of 2026.
  22. I googled ‘NBA #5 selections’ and suggest you do the same. Not many players I would call busts. Depends on your definition. There is a difference being between being not worthy of the fifth pick and being a ‘bust’. Were Ricky Rubio and Jeff Green busts because they were picked fifth? I say they were not busts.
  23. I was glad that we were able to get some multiple year players. I believe our roster currently sits at: Trent Sisley, Aleksa Ristic Fr Josh Harris, So Jasai Miles, Nick Dorn, Jason Drake Jr Lamar Wilkerson, Reed Bailey, Tucker DeVries, Sam Alexis, Conor Enright, Tayton Conerway Sr ------------------------- I agree with Wayne in that I would have liked to add Mbiya, but I'm higher on Sam Alexis than he is and am fine with him filling the backup center role. Obviously there would be an issue if Bailey were to go down. But assuming that there isn't an injury issue, IMO Mbiya would not have played a big role this year at IU and then it becomes more about his long term. I don't even know what to say about players being in a system long term anymore because of the movement that goes on.
  24. Draft position alone guarantees nothing. In terms of going 5th, I wouldn't say seeing it as likely working out as going bust is an endorsement. #5 guys shouldn't be 50% bust. The thought was that Utah gave him a guarantee that if he got to 5 that they insured him they would select him. His advisers seemed to want to go with that assurance as opposed to risk him going two, three or four.
