  1. I would think so too, but just watched ESPN and most said it didn't matter what they did today. Most said Zags, Duke, UNC, and VA as ones. And KY and TN at twos (with likely MSU and UM).
  2. struggling to understand why Tenn isn't getting more 1 spot love. beat KY twice, beat the Zags on a neutral floor, high in Net, less losses than some of the names going around.
  3. You just can't do that. I watched the vid again. He purposefully extended his hand outward to push him. If it wouldn't have been so deliberate, I'd be OK, but it was absolutely deliberate. Just because the kid in the air didn't crash horribly, doesn't mean the action was any less worse. Purely my opinion though.
  4. Pretty sure he was the one that started the whole scuffle by pushing the SH player when he was in the air fading out of bounds. It was a pretty bad/stupid, but wasn't so bad that the player got hurt. Just a real "idiot" thing to do that could have gotten a player hurt.
  5. The Marquette / SH game has about everything you can ask for. Multiple ejections, guys fouling out, scuffles, other techs (8 total), bad ref calls, critical missed foul shots, monster-oops, and down to the last shot.
  6. Furman and SOCON is another interesting group. Furman is 41 NET, UNCG in the low 50s IIRC, and Wofford is top 20 and should get in regardless. Need to cheer hard for UNCG to lose.
  7. One could argue St Marys would have gotten in regardless. Their NET was comfortably in the 30s (34th), and losing to the Zags would not have dropped them much, if at all. I know that the NET is not the end all, but neither are the bubble reports. Actually, we don't really know how the NET will be prioritized, but the NCAA, IMO, would look pretty silly leaving a team out in the top 35 of their own new shiny toy/tool.
  8. lol. yup, 40+ years. i was at IU during the BK years too. the olden days when during frosh year you had to share a phone box with a rotary phone and super long cord, with the room next door. tacos across the street were only like 50 cents though IIRC, so there were a lot of good things lol. getting old.
  9. i've actually posted that the NET is not the end all... my post was simply adding the NET, saying Joe was smoking, and commented on his rankings vs NET.... and this thread is full of people surprised that teams move up or down more or less than they expect (in the NET). regardless, the NET is the new guiding tool. in short, Joe is hit or miss. i've been following stats and brackets for 40+ years, so pretty aware there are a lot of factors. this is the first year of NET though, and it's the NCAA's creation. we'll see how much they follow their own tool, and how subjective they will be (compared to other years). IMO, it won't change a lot, the NCAA Committee will just look a little sillier when they ignore their own system.
  10. I added updated NET in front of the name. I think Joe should smoke a smidge less on a few of these. Either that, or NET means diddley
  11. PU as well. Same side of the bracket as UM
  12. Out of all the teams, I'd love to beat PU the most. So whatever gets us there :-) I wouldn't complain about beating Maryland or UM though.
  13. so likely path of OSU, MSU, Wisc/Maryland, UM/PU. is we could get past MSU a third time, things could get really fun. would love some revenge.
  14. One more box checked.
  15. great game. next! best "take care of business" game all year. JW was a beast. big thank you to all the seniors.
  16. BEAST Morgan doing a bit of everything tonight. Awesome.
  17. well one more half to the regular season. a little sputter at the end of the end of the half, but like the effort. come on JM, go out like a beast. you have one more half in AH.
  18. yup, and it's gonna be fun (unless we **** the bed tomorrow lol). i did not think we'd be in this position a few weeks ago, that's for sure.
  19. thanks USPS. 3rd doesn't make me feel much better though :-)
  20. The only two ugly marks that IU has is Q2 overall record (but especially Q2 Home record lol), and non-conference SoS (which is somewhat voided by our overall SoS). I think with two more wins, we're probably in. I just don't like the thought of being on the second team ever to make the field with 15 losses (I think that's correct).
  21. Give me either, but I'd prefer to even the score with scUM. Not really afraid of playing MSU a third time. To hell with them both.
  22. yup. with the injuries we had this year, it's awesome the way the team never gave up. the losing streaks surrounding the first MSU win were some of the ugliest i can remember. i think system/chemistry, etc is starting to click a bit now that we're not a MASH unit. still not ready to call them consistent, but the effort I've seen in February and March (minus the MN game) has been great.
  23. Yup, there's so many moving parts right now and over the next week. Bid stealers are always a worry. There's also a couple traditionally single team leagues, or smaller conferences, with multiple teams ahead of us in the NET. WCC Zags at 1, but also St. Mary's at 37. SoCon - Wofford at 14, and Furman at 43 MWC - Nevada at 20, and Utah St at 30 OVC - Belmont 44 and Murray St 48 ASUN only has one Libscomb 43, but they could still make it a loss in the CC. Same with Buffalo 16 in the MAC would easily make the dance if they lost in CC. AAC is not tiny, but they have 4 teams ahead of us. Then there's a ton of big conference teams that could play spoiler if they get on a run. MARCH MADNESS!
  24. purely my opinion, but i don't think 1 win in the BTT is a lock. not saying we couldn't slide in, but i'd say to approach lock status, we need to win 2. otherwise, we're relying on help (other's losing).
  25. thank you! so i think i'd rather have a crack at scUM since we swept MSU
