Wow. I am amazed at our AD. If the rumors are true, he needs to be fired NOW. Not hosting an NIT game bc students are gone - are you serious? Most schools invited are in the same position. Fred, do you have any idea how weak and stupid this makes IU look? Allowing Crean to decide his own fate - I simply can't believe this one. It's just unbelievable. I really didn't want to think Fred was this weak and incompetent and again, these are just the rumors but man, if they're true.....yikes.

Didn't say I was gonna stay and watch the game. Just boo our old friend Kelvin, maybe grab a hot dog, head over to Nicks and watch there.

Would make the drive down to Bloomington for that one just to boo Sampson

Glass' silence says it all for me. If he were going to keep him, he would've said so by now. My guess is he's waiting/trying to get his guy before any announcement is made.

If IU is in position to win a a title, Tom Crean most likely won't be the coach - he's proven he isn't the guy to get us there. Simply sitting back and letting the admin hold our program back is not the attitude of a winning basketball program. When they aren't serving the program well, they need to know about it. Without the passion of our fans, we're just another college basketball team. For me, that's the worse thing that could happen and I hate to say it but it's already happening on the national scene (most don't consider us elite). I respect your decision to keep cheering but maybe you should ask yourself if you have a breaking point? If not, then mediocrity seems to be ok with you.

Be honest, are you the guy that yelled at Crean after the Wisconsin game? I see a lot of Maryland in your avatar!

If this is true, and granted we don't know the context of this (could be as simple as he told Crean to find a new job otherwise we're gonna replace you), this is a clear indication that our AD is weak or unwilling to look past his friendship with Crean. Either way, it isn't good for our program(s). The letters and emails need to start going to McRobbie now instead of Glass. If Crean is retained, Glass has proven he's incompetent and an email/letter to him won't do a damn thing. Time to go higher up the chain.

I don't think I'll watch if he's back but I applaud you for thinking positive. Crean needs to be fired because he clearly isn't the long-term answer. One recruit won't change that. If Crean is extended, the mood surrounding IU basketball will be crushed to an even greater low. Zero momentum with nothing to look forward to.

One recruit will not save Crean's job If it does - our AD is truly clueless and a sucker.

Agreed as well. If Billy wants to come to IU, even if he's considering it, you have to adhere to what he wants. We're talking about a two-time back-to-back national champion. A game/program changer - this is no time to demand he give us an answer.

I wouldn't start to worry yet. Most of the coaches we'd be interested in are still coaching or will be focused on the NCAA come Sunday. I'm sure Glass will wait until we have a firm answer/discussion with our next coach - it might be after the tourney unfortunately. If he were going to extend Crean, I'd expect that announcement before the weekend is over.

Not so worried about Crean going away. He's a goner. More worried our AD will make a mistake when replacing him!

I don't really understand the love for Archie most have. Do most not realize Collins beat Archie this year - on a neutral court. He's young - ok. People are worried about Collins leaving for Duke one day - Shouldn't you be worried about Archie leaving for OSU as well? Watch Collins' teams play and I think you'll realize he'd be a great hire. They play great fundamental basketball. They share the ball & play as a team. We're about to see how his guys play in the NCAA tourney - I'm excited to watch.
