Like it or not - they aren't wrong. Just bc we have 5 banners hanging doesn't give us elite status for life. It just means we have a great history. We haven't done jack diddly poo since. So no, we aren't elite. That's why we fired our coach. Consistently winning in the name of the game to get back there. I wouldn't count Gonzaga in that group, tho. That's a bit of a stretch. Fred loves him some khakis

I think he does, actually. Every email I've ever written Fred I've gotten a personalized email back with direct answers to my questions. If you email him, be sure to put direct questions in the email - not just YOU SHOULD RESIGN. That way you'll know if he actually read it.

Would also like to know this.

Coach, You came here when no one else would. You took our program from rubble back to relevance - and you did it the right way - the Indiana way. It's sad things had to end like this as I know every IU fan wanted you to be the guy to bring banners to Bloomington. I'll be forever grateful for what you did for the Indiana program and wish you and your family nothing but the best. If you're ever back in Assembly Hall, I know you'll get the reception you deserve. But don't enjoy it for too long cause we'll beat you! An Appreciative Fan

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)

Not that I've seen. They're just saying we should go after him, Marshall or Bennett -
I agree. Don't get the Archie love. Don't get it at all.
-
Dakich really pushing the hiring of an IU guy. Get Billy, Fife can be his assistant and take over the program when Billy calls it quits. He'll be ready by then
-
Hah! They just cut Dakich off - he's really butt hurt
-
"The hell with Bob Knight" - Dan Dakich Amen, Dan.
-
Dakich pretty much saying anyone would take the job if offered
-
DONT SCREW IT UP, FRED. GET HIM!!
-
We're waiting FRED - JUST GET IT OVER WITH
-
If he's back, Fred, McRobbie and all the trustees might as well stay off the internet until we win a National Championship. The amount of hate emails they'll be getting will reach the millions.
-
wooooooow. Billy Donovan wanted to coach IU. Great job, Fred.
-
well, tomorrow should be interesting.... or just another day of nothing being said, who knows.
-
If Illinois gets Marshall or Bennett and we stick with Crean - what an embarrassment for our athletic department. McRobbie would need to clean house. That's something that would make me never watch Indiana again until our department is wiped out completely. If the rumors are true and Illinois is willing to pony up, why the hell can't we? Why is Tom Crean STILL our coach? Is there anyone with some freaking sense in our athletic department, university execs or board of trustees. What a disaster this could be. We'll look incredibly weak.

a rich idiot?

Maybe Fred made them some Sweet 16 rings to remind them how elite our program and coach currently are

Any business person can see how incompetent of a decision this was by Fred Glass. Instead of making money he chose to spend thousands while achieving the one thing he sought to avoid - embarrassment. Safe to say his decision backfired.
-
I sincerely hope there was more to the decision to voluntarily give up a home game. If the only reason to do it was to avoid embarrassment due to a lack of fans at home, Mr. Glass - you failed miserably and should consider stepping down. IU just lost in the first round of the NIT, in our home whites, in Atlanta. This could have been avoided 100% - not to mention the money you lost the University from ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, etc. from having a home game. We may consider ourselves elite but the rest of the country doesn't and the NIT loss last night confirms it. Why accept the bid to play in the NIT if you have no intention of playing a home game? There has to be something more to this. If there isn't, then its pure stupidity and incompetence.

Anyone else.
