I respect your view. Just trying to shine some light on the scenario that NO one ever thinks about when things are bad and coaches gotta go. So easy to fire someone and it's fixed. That's not life and usually just the first step in long and painful journey that may end up somewhere pretty great.

Again, not to rehash how these things actually work in real life. There would be fallout ( believe it or not I think the boys like Crean). These guys were not recruited for d...Crean doesn't recruit that way. U get a defensive coach in here it would be even uglier and rightfully so....at least until he got a few recruiting years in. And what I think everyone on this thread would have to agree too hence the title is Crean didn't have much to do with the number 1 ranking and more life after Sampson.

Just thinking top coach level with coach k, calapari, self. Gotta pay them right.

Like I said. Brad is not coming and the other two, while strong up and coming, it's a 5 year plan when they step on campus period. Would be interesting to watch though!

. List me 5 proven coaches who would come here and I would agree. It's not happening. Pickings are as slim as they have been in 20 years for "proven" head coaches. Getting rid of Crean is the only easy part. We should just be ready for the aftermath instead of thinking some magical turn around happens when Crean hits the road....it's just the beginning

While I appreciate the blind optimism it's much worse than being discussed here. Crean is not the answer....obviously. There is NO coach who can fix this in a few years (that would want to come here that is) including almighty Brad. We don't have the pull or horses anymore...but the worst part is we think we do. When this goes down the true pain begins fellas. 5-7 years of hell all over again as door mats. (Bottom 3 in big ten). Gather your rations and prepare accordingly.
