At this point, I'm good with either. Woodson continues to bring this raining down on himself... IMO, he will face the wrath of the fanbase if he continues to be on the sidelines... and he will have to concede defeat to quit and walk away... either way, I see that his reputation and legacy have been tarnished beyond repair... and it's 100% his doing.

And remember, 5 of the remaining 8 games are at SSAH... so that's 5 more opportunities for Woodson to face an increasingly more toxic environment each time out... gonna be a bumpy ride.

And I do agree with you, that is wrong on every level... there's no place for that in sports or society at large.

I see it as a ham-fisted attempt by the IU administration to head off a toxic display at the UM game. I also see it, true to form, as Woodson trying to get ahead of any announcement and control the spin... and it looks like the thing the IU admin feared the most is now upon us. Hey, Mike, be careful what you ask for... you just might get it.

None of this is about race... it's about ability, attitude, and performance. Woodson has failed on all three. He should never have been hired after a mediocre NBA coaching career, and definitely should not have been brought back for year 4. He's an abject failure as a college coach, and is, IMO, being judged on that basis alone.

Well, if this is "new news", then tomorrow should be interesting for all parties concerned...

Absolutely would love it. The shenanigans around the whole Woodson tenure certainly would warrant an investigation. The latest episode hijacking an IU jet for personal use is more evidence. If there's graft and corruption in any of this, it needs to be exposed and the guilty held accountable. Corruption? Malfeasance? Misuse of university assets?

I think a large part of the delay from the university is the crap that Woodson pulled with the "I'll retire", goes home and gets his @$$ handed to him by his wife, comes back to Dolson and says "screw you, I quit"... His dismissal is as confusing as his coaching...

That's the real issue where I sit. The man has such a huge ego that he cannot see the big picture. He needs an intervention by those who really care about him, including his family and his buddies Quinn, Isiah, Wittman, Ferguson, etc... he's quickly becoming a national laughing stock... and all of these people who claim to love Indiana University are doing him and his reputation/legacy and the reputation of IU a huge disservice... it's like they're trashing the university and Woodson himself for their entertainment... and/or to "stick it" to the fanbase. I get it that Buckner only has a few months left, but can we initiate a recall or impeachment effort against him. He needs to go, too.

My check with Pearl is that his son is the coach in waiting at Auburn. I really can’t see Auburn honoring that agreement if Bruce bolts for Btown. I just don’t. And I’m doubtful that Dolson would consider such an arrangement. As a coach, I’d love to have Bruce’s Pearl, I just see that great big roadblock.
