B1G Tourney Opponents...
MartintheMopMan replied to Bryan Medema's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I would rather play Wiscy than MSU, but we are playing one of them for almost certain I think if we don't drop the next two. We will end up the 1 seed in that case and they are both vying for the 4 seed. So, unless they are knocked off by whomever plays them on Friday (or we are) we will see them on Saturday. Also, I thought 2016 was DC's year to host the BTT? What ever happened to that? -
All right folks, let's kick the tires and light the fires; we've got a game to win to nestle the solo Big Ten Title into our bustle. We're 1.5 games ahead with 2 games left and it's time to seal the deal with a top-25 RPI road win to knock Iowa out of the contest. Maybe OSU is going to get them on Sunday, but either way, let's kick their dang butts! I will update the numbers on Sunday night/Monday morning after the @OSU game. Prediction League: Nope. Slacker. Pick'ems: Laaaazy. The numbers: [attachment=3501:1.PNG] [attachment=3502:2.PNG]

Analysis: One step closer to a B1G title
MartintheMopMan replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Psh, Lunardi is no Andy Bottoms. The Iowa game is going to be wild, if we can roll like the second half today we can beat anyone anywhere. I hope RoJo can come back for Iowa, he shines against Iowa. -
Yeah, you're right, what am I thinking? I hope they get beat so bad Coach K has to resign and start working at another school because of the embarrassment. Maybe another traditional blue blood, but in a cooler climate to help preserve him as he's aging. Maybe a school who is recruiting and playing well, but not living up to their potential. I think the University of Indiana would take him.
-
Do they post the clips anywhere afterwards? I don't know if I've ever followed the combine quite so closely.

It's all timing here. I have only had to miss or delay games when I had something regularly scheduled over it like Sunday School and soccer practice. This game just happens to be exactly at dinnertime and I can't control the in-laws, so these things happen. She's great about doing things like picking the kid up from daycare when it conflicts with a 4 pm or 5 pm game and stuff.

CBS Basketball Selection Show - Mar. 13 @ 530 pm ET
MartintheMopMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That would be pretty cool. Like a pre-bracket bracket challenge. Almost statistically impossible to get them all right too, so almost no risk. -
Jason Spriggs OT - Green Bay Packers
MartintheMopMan replied to hoosierwhodey's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
I selfishly want Spriggs to drop to the second so the Niners can pick him up there. We draft too early to take him in the first, but he'd fit in perfectly with Chip's offense. He was LT at Indiana though right? He'd have to switch to RT to start. -
CBS Basketball Selection Show - Mar. 13 @ 530 pm ET
MartintheMopMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Relevant portion of the article for non-clickers: Selection Sunday is getting bigger. The NCAA Basketball Championship Selection Show, featuring the exclusive, live first-time announcement of the pairings for the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, is expanding to two hours. Turner Sports and CBS Sports will begin the road to the 2016 Final Four with the newly expanded show, airing Sunday, March 13, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The bigger Selection Show will feature more analysis, more discussion, more interviews and more reactions from teams as they learn their seed, region and opponent. Ernie Johnson will join Greg Gumbel to host the show from the CBS Broadcast Center in New York City. Clark Kellogg, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, Seth Davis and Doug Gottlieb will provide analysis breaking down the bracket. Previously, the one-hour Selection Show aired from 6-7 p.m. The Selection Show is so outdated, I know they never will but they should ditch the entire thing. It's not like the draft where anything is happening between each announcement, they are literally just dragging out telling us predetermined information like some kind of VH1 countdown. Release the bracket instantaneously and save us all a headache. I'll even download a proprietary app filled with ads for it. -
USF DC Tom Allen hired as DC
MartintheMopMan replied to akhosrof's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
No way they both didn't get one, across the board raises for sure. Want me to shoot over a record request to confirm? Are their salaries available in the public salary database? -
X-Hoosier or Andowen, someone has to change their avatar. I can't handle two identical avatars and keep conversation straight, and I think this site is all about catering to my wants.

No doubt it's a trap, but one of the reasons I married my wife is because being in trouble is pretty tolerable. I pay for it by taking over some chores around the house (which, I likely would have had to do anyway) and it all works out. If I can get the chores done before she comes home, then I can usually defuse the whole situation ahead of time. When "like the time you stayed home to watch basketball when my parents were here" comes up when my family is in town, I also have the trump card since my family doesn't care at all so she can do whatever she wants. Plus, she needs allies against her mother, so she can't turn on me until they leave. I'm incapable of doing this. If I don't watch a game on time I want to know the outcome so I know if it's going to ruin my night. Then I get disappointed in myself for blowing the ending. Though, sometimes it makes the game more fun like the Niner's win against the Bears where all I knew was we won and for the entire game I kept thinking "I don't see any way for us to win this, there is no way we actually won".

In-law brothers! Mine are coming in about 2.25 hours, so no carrying at risk, but they will want to eat dinner at the same time the game is on over here. I politely asked my wife if we can go somewhere with a TV and she managed not to sustain any permanent eye damage while rolling them and sighing. So, I think I'm good. I also got an annoyed "Maybe you should just stay home" which would really be the ideal solution for me.

Good question. They had a small drop, but for the most part remained steady. We now have a 30% chance to win compared to I believe 26 or 24% prior to the loss. At Michigan is at 54% and therefore a straight toss-up, it was maybe 56 or 58% before and at OSU is 63% which I believe is only 1 point lower than before. I don't think I ever took a snapshot of them prior to the game, but if someone recalls me posting one let me know and I'll grab it and post the comparison.

(2018) LB Hugh Davis to Boston College
MartintheMopMan replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
I really like Davis if for no other reason than getting our name right. -
It really puts it into perspective just how hard Priller is living the dream. Free college, best seats in the house for every game, occasional playing time but no pressure, recognized but never harassed for a bad game, never pays for a drink, and absolutely drowning in poon. I wish I were 7-feet-tall and able to trick a blue blood coach into blowing a scholarship on me.

They always travel before those last shots, it's never called. Who was it, OG in the Purdue game with an endgame travel they didn't call? Wow, I just checked their schedule and they had a much better month of February than I realized. We last had a big conversation about it right after the Arizona game, then I only watched the last three (Cal, Oregon, and Washington) and did not entirely realize they beat Utah at all or @Stanford (not a top team, but legit). Oh man, and I just checked Andy's bracket and he has them in Raleigh as a 10. Bet they'd prefer to be in Spokane, but that's not even on the bubble, they're firmly in. Pretty much where we were last year. You're right, no embarrassing loss against Washington State or really bad loss in the Pac-12 tourney and they're cruising.

The only other big basketball fan in my office is an OSU fan. He's going to be pumped. Great game too, too bad they are still outside the bubble.
