  1. Not according to the committee that year iu was the 3rd overall number 1 seed Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  4. Louisville also lost to that same zone that year as well. I agree there are no more excuses to be made for the man but to act like it was such a big upset losing to this Syracuse team is crazy in my opinion. I would argue the year before when we played VCU showed just as much how unprepared for a certain gameplan this team was. VCU was the better team for almost the whole game. We turned it over like we do this year. It took a shot by Will and then Shaka draws up a great play to get a shooter a wide open shot to win it, he just missed the shot. But since we won the game no one points to it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. Besides his championship he had 2 other years playing in the championship games(without melo) up until that point. Obviously he added another final 4 run that year with a talented team that had NBA players on the roster As Wayne says back on topic fire crean Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. College basketball always delivers. Kansas wins in ot Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  7. They are costing Huggins 25,000 tonight by choking away this win. Each time he beats Kansas he gets 25k Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  8. Kansas outscored West Virginia 21-7 in the last 2:20 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  10. Wow what a collapse by press Virginia. Press a pressing team. Mason ties it up Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  11. Yep sometimes the team that isn't the best wins(Villanova beating Georgetown for the title shooting over 80 percent for the game) and sometimes the most talented team wins (Kentucky winning it in 2012). It's part of college basketball Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  12. And scoring more points then your opponents Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. It was just an example. I wonder how Georgetown fans felt that year when their 2 seeded Hoyas with a top 5 pick lost to Florida gulf coast in the 1st round Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  14. Or they just played harder. Did Syracuse not have a game plan when that temple team beat them earlier in the year. Losing happens regardless of having a terrible coach or a hall of fame coach. Sometimes it's just not your night Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. I just watched the temple game again. Temple had a great game plan and Wyatt was ridiculous. Iu looked like they cared but for whatever reason they were getting outplayed. Vic looked like he cared when he drained that 3. Talented teams lose all the time. Sometimes you are on the wrong end of games when u are th favorites. Wonder how Duke fans felt in 2002 when their team of 6 first rounders lost in the sweet 16 to IU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. U mean like every team that has lost to Syracuse in the last 15 years since he has ran it for that long. They won a national title playing that 2-3 zone that teams had a full week to prepare for. While iu looked terrible against it don't act like it's a normal 2-3 zone with the length and height of the guards he recruits for his system. There was a reason their defense was the 7th adjusted defense that year. Just think how Marquette fans felt when they only scored 39 points in the elite 8 against the 2-3 zone Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. Yeah this happens every year with teams that have a chance to win it. Since that was iu's first team in a really long time that legitimately had a chance to win it all it stung the fan base harder. But in reality that loss was no different then any other number 1 seed losing before the final 4. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  18. Maybe but Syracuse has a little more to do with iu losing then some want to give credit. They went on in he next game to hold Marquette to 39 points in the elite 8. 7th Ken Pom adjusted defense. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  19. and Louisville last lost was February 9th that year and was ranked # 1 in the country like we were in January. Iu was one of a handful of teams that could of won that year. Like many years good teams with dreams of winning it lose. It's why the tournament is greatest sporting event in the world in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. Syracuse was a top 10 preseason team that year as well that under preformed all year to get a 4 seed. People seem to forget that and think that Syracuse was trash that year Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. Sorry they weren't clearly the best team that year in my opinion They were on of the best teams but the 3rd overall number 1 seed that year. Louisville was the number 1 overall seed and Kansas was the 2nd number 1 seed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. And then turned that 33 point loss into a school paying him 3.1 mil a year. Not a bad turn of events after getting embarrassed in s final 4 Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Louisville has done everything to let Syracuse win this game at the end of this game Louisville wins Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  24. Baylor down 8 with 4 min to go at Texas tech Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  25. So sad to learn Virginia Tech's Chris Clarke tore an ACL v. UVA and will miss the season. Terrific player, a real triple-double threat. @jaybilas Hate to hear about a kids season ending because of an injury Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
