Anthony Leal getting paid to warm the bench is a joke. He’s a feel good story absolutely, the program needs a hometown player for sure. But paying him?

I can’t imagine donating any sort of dollar amount to this program while it doesn’t even make the NCAA tournament.

I’m not buying it. Indiana has zero bench at the moment, they would have to clean house there. Woodson will still want to play inside out and Malik clearly isn’t the answer at this point to be the #1 option. Cupps will be serviceable, Trey will be serviceable of course. I’m not buying Woodson being able to turn it around in the portal.

Exactly. But for a coach to contact you, you must be in the portal. If not, it’s an NCAA violation. A lot of schools have committed violations within the last week by reaching out to kids who are not officially in the portal yet. Is your program willing to bend the rules? Most of the time it’s coaches reaching out to AAU coaches or following on IG.

D1’s men’s and women’s basketball programs are allowed to have 2 additional non-assistant staff members with on court duties. It’s up to each program who to use for on court designations. That being said, a lot of programs break this rule.

It takes a while for compliance to register players through the portal. It's not an automatic process exactly.

Woodson hasn't had his one on ones yet more than likely.

I heard he had a 1-1 meeting with a player today and the player threw a plant at him. Or maybe that was Tom Crean.

Good morning Hoosiers! GOOD NEWS: Indiana won't get blown out AGAIN in the NCAA tournament for a third straight year. BAD NEWS: Mike Woodson will be the head coach for one more year. I'm expecting a couple transfers today, I've been checking the portal and I haven't seen them yet. But then again, it's too early for Mike Woodson to be telling kids they're gone.

It is and we waste money, scholarships, and time. But, Indiana dug their own grave on this mess. It was easy to predict from Day 1 that Woodson would fail to live up to the standards at Indiana. The administration has no one else to blame but theirselves.

Thanks for the update Jerry! Nothing too crazy to digest there as it all makes sense. Woodson won’t land a program changer in the portal, he’ll get the sloppy seconds from the P4 schools. Maybe he’ll get a 18PPG from a mid major, that likely won’t transfer over to B1G. Next year is a waste of time, nonetheless, it will allow Dolson to really evaluate who is a possible candidate. Maybe Brad Steven’s gets the itch again? We should get some transfer news early this week after player one on ones.

Who Michigan or UL lands will tell a lot about the landscape of the coaching candidates.

Does it matter though? Woodson had six P4 players basically this year, he's already leaving a lot of scholarships open with the lack of talent.

Woodson couldn't win with NBA talent. No reason to think he could win with significantly worse talent (CBB). EDIT: I'm expecting news of Gunn, Banks, Sparks, Mackenzie, and Gabe of transferring by Monday evening.

You just wait, big change is coming here in the next two years. Especially after the court cases complete next year. The big schools will separate from the NCAA.
