Indiana vs Louisville Game Thread
brandct replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Thats the only offense he knows -
Both games on the road Duke missing one of there starters and VT is 12-1 now. GT is 9-4 so at least they are above .500
-
A loss to Nebraska at home should never happen either but ...
-
I didn't know much about him other than his last year or so at Iowa State I knew he had some success.
-
They are saying Hoiberg's seat in Chicago is getting pretty hot.
-
This. If I have something I want to do I go do it. I have missed more games the last 2-3 years then I have in probably the 15-20 years before that. Used to if I missed a game I would dvr it and watch it when I got home or use a vcr and record it in the older days and now I don't.
-
I said this earlier. I think that is what changed the season for him, and I think its the reason he is still at IU.
-
Most of this is not based on this season alone though. People are calling for his head because of his body of work or lack there of.
-
I tried to stand by Crean for a few years, and I let go after that horrid showing against Syracuse in the tournament. I watched regularly for another year or so and just kind of started watching if there was nothing better to do. I have watched probably 2-3 games this year so far and seen nothing has changed. I hate to see anyone get hurt, but I think the best thing that happened to Crean was Blackmon getting hurt last year. I think that made the team come together and took the biggest defensive liability off the floor. It also gave him one less option to put into the game and interrupt the flow of the game when they got to playing well. I think he is a good developer of talent if you are a SG, SF, PG type. I do not think he can develop a big man at all. Most the big men that come to IU seem to not get any better than the day they walk on campus.
-
With Blackmon it is not one game though the kid has never played D. He might try but he just does not do a good job of it. With Thomas Bryant I think Crean is hurting him having him so far from the basket so much. He can be out there some but at 7 foot with his frame he needs to be on the block more. OG has been up and down but I still think he is the one that would get drafted based just off of athleticism, and potential.
-
My guess is he was in pretty good standing, but after everything with the football extension and everything that has went on there things could have changed some. Because if there was problems you don't hand out a 6 year extension. If nothing else it makes him look bad in the publics eye.
-
This isn't about one game. He has won some big games but he don't win consistently and never goes far when it matters. The fans do have a voice quit spending money, quit going to game, hit them where it hurts and change will happen. The problem with Indiana basketball is so many people are fans and that its so hard to get season tickets people keep buying them even with lackluster performance, and being upset because they don't want to lose their seats. The only way is to show displeasure, and to not spend money on their products.
-
And just exactly how has he proved his worth? He did no better then he has this year. Yes he finally made some changes which only took 7 years, but the result was the same. Get put out early in the B1G tournament and a sweet 16 loss.
-
Here is my thing your all talking about how they hit a high percentage of threes and no one was beating them last night. That's what we relied on all year to win games. Most of our blowout wins and some of our close wins was because we hit 10 or more threes in that game. That usually does not happen and if that's the type of team you are you end up losing in the long run because one bad game in 6 and your going home. Also we hit 13 of 31 for almost 41%.

Texas A&M was co SEC champs and made it to the finals of the SEC Tournament. Kentucky was co SEC Champs and won the SEC tournament. We were B1G Champs and lost in our first conference tournament game. So I do not see your point here.
-
Interchange us with Kentucky its the same result. Texas A&M only had 5 top 50 RPI wins, but only 1 loss outside the RPI top 100 and none out of the RPI top 150, also had a strength of schedule of 63
-
Oh I know he will be back, but am also pretty sure that we will not do any better.
-
Ok lets break it down Iowa State had 7 top 50 RPI Wins No losses outside the top 100 and only 1 loss outside of the top 50. They had a strength of schedule of 12. So yes I do think they deserved a better seed then IU.
-
I am just saying I would have used a team we hadn't lost to already, and always struggle with, instead.
-
I would at least use an example that we had not lost to this year and only beat by 1 at Assembly Hall.
-
If you look at Tournament resumes Duke was a 4 seed with a much better resume then us. They only had 1 RPI loss outside the top 100 won 6 RPI top 50 games and had a strength of schedule of 10. Indiana did have 6 RPI top 50 wins, but had 3 losses to teams outside the top 100 and one of those was outside the top 150, and there strength of schedule was 100th. Looking at that and how they was seeding I don't think a 5 seed was completely out of line.
-
This is exactly my fear.
-
If you think Crean is living up to standards then you are part of the problem. He said it in is introduction at Indiana "This is Indiana".
-
And I still stand by this.
-
Record just gives you more balls in the drawing in the NBA. It does not determine where you will draft.
