I like Archie for the job. Honestly from what I have read Stevens is a hard no, but you have to offer him everything you have to try and lure him. Donavon I also think would be a no depending on what OKC does at the deadline and how they fair in the playoffs. I had never even considered Beard until he was mentioned earlier but I think he could be a good choice. I also think with IU's resources Chris Collins could do really well.

Honestly with his track record I would hand him the reigns right now. I think he is a very smart coach that has turned every team he has coached around. I just do not know if he would come to IU with his Knight ties and its pretty obvious what Knight thinks of IU anymore, unless he is just like most IU fans and don't like Crean.

I have watched a few Dayton games and this first half does not sum him up as a whole. Although it does bring another guy into the conversation Rhode Island has Hurley on the bench, but I don't know a whole lot about him. I seem to remember him being in the conversation for some jobs last year.

What blackmail does Crean have against Dicky V he has gushed all night about him. He has to know the game better than to spew all that about Crean.

Biggest problem with this game to me was the fact Davis had a great first game against Wisconsin and today didn't miss a shot or free throw and played solid D when he was out there and still does not get over 15 minutes of playing time. That is without 2 of your top players you would think Crean would see this and play him but he does not understand it at all

I have been against Crean since the year we lost to Syracuse even before that game I seen his issues at gameplanning, changes, subs, and everything else. I am in the middle of that drmographic.

Obviously someone is ok with losing to IPFW, losing to Nebraska at home, and being nothing other than mediocre in the tournament. You can feel like a super fan for supporting a coach that just does not get the job done consistently, and makes the most mind numbing decisions game in and game out. As long as it makes you feel like a better fan thats ok.

I question whether he wants that guy. I think his ego is to big to have someone like that.

The way this team is shooting as of late should not have taken 25 3 point shots.

This game was also much closer than the score IMO. If Rutgers could have hit a free throw its a 10 point game or less.

He didn't want to show them up when we are up 20, but he sure didn't take his starters out when the game was well in hand the last 3-4 minutes.

I don't know if they could compete on the recruiting trail to field as good of a team but as a flat out coach X's O's, teaching fundamentals, getting the best out of a player, sub patterns I sure do think some could compete with him.

I listened to it all and I agree with him that Bryant is not ready, but that comes back to his development he was closer to being ready last year then he was right now. OG is the same way as Bryant, and if these people are not leaving how many scholarships do we have opening up? Is he going to redshirt Hartman? I think for the amount of people he has signed we already need to lose 1-2 people. If none of this happens are we going back to Creaning more players? Also him saying he thinks 92% of IU fans are happy with him I think that is a gross miscalculation because I have not met 1 single person that is fully happy in the job he is doing/has done. Also if he was talking about how he thinks fans are 92% happy with him as a coach and not 92% of fans are happy I think that is a gross miscalculation also. People are not happy with his recruiting right now, people are not happy with his sub patterns, people are not happy with his defense, and there is much more. Either way Doyel meant that I think is way off base. They also are so quick to forget all the problems kids have had under him with the law, drugs, and alcohol. To keep praising him for his high character teams is a misrepresentation.

He has also been Creans biggest critic at one point.

I am about halfway through it I am glad that he apologized to Crean for his column that he wrote less than a week or two after starting his job. He has talked about how Crean has developed as a coach. He might have last year, but you have to count into that that Blackmon got hurt, but this year he is back to the same old Crean. He is also talking about how Butler lost last night because of taking to many 3's early in the shot clock. Well that is half our offense, but yet he says Crean has developed. As far as player development there has not been much this year at all. He has had a few successes Oladipo, Sheehey, but he has had way more failures. We have not developed 1 decent big guy in 9 years since he has been here. Cody was no better the day that he left then the day that he showed up.

I will try to listen to it all the way through, but I don't care for Doyel never really have liked his journalism. Honestly though I do not think that he understands Hoosier Basketball. He is a Hawaii Born, Florida Gator educated journalist. He has no ties to Indiana what so ever other than his job at the Indy star for the last 3 years.

I bet we could find a high school coach that would give similar results for far lass than 3 million a year though.

I live 15 minutes from New Albany have been to a few of his games. Never heard a bad thing about him seen him stay after a few times to sign autographs for kids. Seems like a stand up kid.
