It’s pretty telling that a long time insider like @KathywithaC made a statement that not all of Buckner’s influence has been bad. Then when asked for an example, pointed to a lame duck coach firing that the public was clamoring for. Makes it very clear that Buckner should be nowhere near basketball decisions.

He made sure Crean was fired. Is there anything else he did to benefit hoops?

Where and when has Buckner’s influence been good for hoops?

Knight certainly physically abused his players. Personally witnessed it during games multiple times. He would kick players in the shins as he crouched down to start his timeout rant. Even did it to his own son. Everyone looked the other way because he was a legendary coach.

He was fired from Tulsa last week after 2 years.

Miserable Mike

I’ve done that the last two days. I’ve had everyone of them mad at me at some point.  It’s good to be the king. Won out on back to back loners between my brother in law and I.

We averaged a turnover a minute in the first 8 minutes of the game. Still not boxing out. Still not guarding the 3 point line. This is what poor coaching looks like.

He’s also played 11 games to our 2. Just a nonsense comparison.

He went to the Elite 8 with Dayton. He sucked hard here, but was a much more successful coach than Woodson prior to being hired.

Another possible factor could be that his dad did not have him play AAU ball. Woody doesn’t seem to care for that and just generally anything recruiting related. Maybe that philosophy/attitude was common ground that turned into compatibility.

@RaceToTheTop answered earlier that SOS is taken into account. I’m not an advanced stats guy so I’ll take the L on that point. I would hope we could provide May a bit more resources than FAU to combat the step up to the B1G. The program has never lacked support or resources. We all know the right dude can turn this thing back into a monster. I’m not sure that’s him, it’s seems risky. I’d like to see us just one time swing for the fences. Throw out a really stupid big number at someone who is an established winner. The upfront investment would pay off in the long run.

Could FAU’s schedule being more difficult this year than last have anything to do with the dip in defensive efficiency numbers?
